Remus rolled over and sighed at the sound of Viva la Vida being played at four in the morning. The sky was somehow already getting lighter. Barely, but it was.
He shuffled out of bed and went downstairs to grab a coffee, not bothering to get ready yet, stumbling around everywhere.
Sirius was already downstairs, looking kind of grumpy. His long-ish hair was up in a man bun, which, was kind of cute in a way, and he just wore a pair of sweatpants and a plain t-shirt.
"How much coffee did you have?" Remus asked, looking at the scattered K-cups everywhere.
"I haven't had any coffee." Sirius lied.
"You sure?"
"Five cups of it." Sirius admitted.
Remus put a thing of coffee in the coffee maker, and pressed the button for small, to get the least watered down coffee as possible. As soon as it finished brewing, the night black coffee looked almost a bit brown, due to the lights shining from the wall onto the long bar that they ate on. He added a bit of cream and sugar, and sipped the steaming hot coffee, starting to wake up a bit more.
"How do you even drink it like that?" Remus asked, pointing to Sirius's black coffee,
"I'm punk rock, that's why." Sirius said, and shivered a little because of how bitter his coffee probably was. He leaned against the green-colored countertops, still looking half asleep.
Remus hated coffee, honestly, but he drank coffee anyway, for energy, not taste.
"That honestly sounds terrible." Remus said. "Aren't you a barista? You should know coffee."
"Yeah, I hate it honestly. Teenagers come in and order coffees just to take photos of them. I don't mind that part as much, but they make their already complex overpriced caffeinated milkshakes incredibly more complex and then tip like shit." Sirius complained.
"I honestly never really understood why people always take photos of their food, it's just food." Remus said, shrugging, and took another sip of his coffee.
"Exactly." Sirius agreed, pointing a finger of approval at Remus. His bun bounced a little, making Remus smile a bit.
"Anyway, your bag's in the car, right?" Remus asked Sirius.
"Nope, one of my jackets were in the dryer, I wanted to let that dry."
"You already have packed three." Remus pointed out,
Sirius shrugged. "Four's a good number, I can rotate them in and out, if one gets dirty I have three others."
"What would happen if you lost one."
Sirius gasped. "How dare you suggest that horrid idea!" He said, making Remus laugh.
He put the mug of coffee in the sink, the one in the matching set of three that Peter got as a joke for the, Remus's said Nerd on it, Sirius had one that said Punk on it, and James had one that said Jock on it.
"It could happen." Remus said, and was distracted by James's door opening, and a prepared yet exhausted James walking out.
"Coffee, please." James said, and Remus noticed he was blocking the way to the coffee maker. He moved over, and decided to go upstairs and put on something other than sweatpants.
He chose a t-shirt and some comfortable pants, as it was still summer, after all. The sky was still getting lighter, somehow, even though it was 5 in the morning by now. Remus went over and finished up his usual morning routine, grabbed his phone, laptop, and charger, and went downstairs to hopefully hit the road.
