Small snowflakes fell around them as Remus tugged on the scarf on his neck. It wasn't supposed to snow, but then again, it was only about a week until Christmas.
"We never get this much snow around the holidays," James commented, "Just a shit ton during February."
"Think it's going to be a white Christmas?" Peter asked. James shrugged in response, and put an arm around Lily.
The six of them were roaming the streets of Providence, towards the Providence Place Mall to get some last-minute Christmas shopping done. Since they were all broke, the cover art for the album only just getting completed, Remus and Lily still needed to finish up the last of the paperwork. It was nice having Lily's help on that kind of stuff.
Remus grabbed his phone to check the weather for Peter. He looked through it, "Nope, this is the last snow until January 4th," he informed.
Peter pouted, but shrugged. "Maybe next year," he thought to himself.
"Hope we can find some hot chocolate inside," Amelia stated, and shivered a little. She spoke a bit louder than normal, likely due to the fact she had fluffy white earmuffs on.
Remus nodded. "I agree, it is cold." They walked under the light of a streetlamp, which barely illuminated the quickly darkening sky. The four headed through the parking garage, and into the mall.
"Why didn't we park in here?" Peter asked. Remus didn't answer, he didn't know if the question was rhetorical or not.
"Cause we went to go have dinner," James reminded.
"Yeah, but we could have just taken the car over here," he pointed out.
"It was only a block away," Remus said.
Peter shrugged, "Good point," he said, and pushed open the doors to the mall. Inside was filled with people also running some last-minute shopping. Golden and silver decorations filled the stores, along with sale signs that were red enough to be part of the Christmas decor.
"Hey, uhh, Amelia?" Peter asked as they walked along.
"Yeah?" She said, turning towards him.
"Would, you know, it be okay if I held your hand?" He asked, awkwardly.
"Sure!" She took his hand, and Peter smiled. The red on his face was likely not from how cold it was outside. As they walked, the two of them swung their hands back and forth. They were adorable together.
They walked through the mall, passing through many stores. "Hey, look, it's that new expensive as fuck iPhone!" Sirius said, as they passed an Apple store.
"What is that, an 11?" Lily asked. "It's over a thousand dollars!"
"I'm just bothered by the fact last year they skipped the iPhone 9," Remus admits. He preferred Samsung over Apple, who was too expensive and kind of overrated to him. He and Sirius have gotten into many arguments over that.
"Why did they do that?" Peter asked, like he never considered that. The group all simultaneously shrugged.
After window shopping through a couple more stores, Amelia spoke up, "We should split up and buy eachother gifts," she suggested, "Like a couples thing."
