I woke up panting and out of breath. “Another one,” I said aloud.
I looked out the window to see a terrible storm. It was dark outside. I let out a whimper just as the roar of the thunder hit my ears. I didn't want to imagine what's under my bed, or inside the closet so I sat all curled up.
Then I heard the faint sound of footsteps. The source kept moving slowly and stopped outside my room. I hid my face under the blanket.
The door opened.
“Another nightmare?” Asked Mom with a worried look.
I simply nodded.
