I tap on the glass for the millionth time, worriedly.
“Hey buddy… I’m sorry.” The words have become automatic.
“Bellezza, for the last time, it’s okay.” My friend pats the invisible glass that separates us.
“How can you forgive me so easily?” I question uneasily.
“Because you’re my buddy. I’ll always forgive you,” my friend assures me.
With my shy smile and rosy cheeks, I tackle my friend with my tiny, robotic hug, hoping my buddy can feel it passed the screen.
Face to face, or through a phone, a true friendship is felt with the soul, not the face.

For years, I've never believed in true online friendship. Now I have friends online whom I wouldn't replace with the whole world.
