“Mmm… Mike?”
I moved my arms and felt for his face. I smiled despite myself, even if it was the middle of the night, and ruffled his hair.
Fingers rose up in response and touched my cheek. I ---
Wait!
I froze when the said fingers felt like they were climbing up my nostrils.
“Mike!”
This time he might have heard something in my tone, because the next thing I knew, the lights were full on glaring.
I peeled my eyes open and screamed at myself in the full-length mirror.
A garden spider had mistook my nose for a tree.
