Chapter 2

Annabelle's pov

My alarm goes off. I hear my twin grumble.

"Shut that damn thing off." She says Sleeply. I roll my eyes and turn it off. I watch as she goes back to sleep. I can't do that. Sugarplum is waiting for me. I got ready with my cowgirl hat, my boots, my plaid red shirt, my tight but not skinny jean, and put on my belt with my beltbuckle. It was for winning so many barrel races. What can I say? Sugarplum and I make a perfect team. You are most likely wondering who the heck is Sugarplum. She's my horse. She is white with black spots all over her. She's my baby. Anyway I took her riding down the trails. Around eight, I was grooming her. Hayden comes running down the holler. She is so city.

"Hey twinse! I got to go to work! Love you, bye!" She says hugging me.

"Hey twinse! Ok, love you, bye!" I say hugging back. She ran back to the house. I feed Sugarplum and clean her stale. I put her back in there and made sure had all the water and food she needs. I check the time. 9:oo. Oh no, 6 hours. I need to get mine and Hayden's chores done. I ran to the house and quickly did laundry, the dishes, sweep and mop the bathroom and kitchen floors. Vaccum the rest of the house. I don't get a pay check today cause I didn't have a race today. I collect change around the house. I have over 1,500 dollars hidden from my Aunt and Uncle. Why cause if I didn't, Hayden and I would starve. I buy our food. Hayden doesn't know that. You might be wondering, where are your aunt and uncle. They are out at their usual get together. We have lived with these people for two year. Our parents died 2 years ago. It's sad to live without them. Hayden became very rebellious ever since. My sister and I were a lot similar back them. Dressing and acting the same. It's weird with this new Hayden. I love her just the same. She's all I got. Beside Sugarplum. I'm all she has. It was 2 o'clock now. Oh no. 30 minutes later Aunt and Uncle come in. Uncle walks over to me.

"Where's your sister, whore?" I finched.

"I-I don't know." I said. He slaps me.

"Looks like we have a lair." My aunt snickers. She walks over to me.

"I think you should teach her a lesson." She slaps me harder than him.

"I agree. One more time, where's your sister?"

"At the club." I said so quietly I'm surprised they heard it.

"The whore twins at it again." I glanced at the clock. 15 minutes till Hayden get home.

"Hm what should we do with you?"

"I'll leave and you decide." She sends him a wink. This can't be good. He walks closer to me. He starts kissing my neck. I bust into tears. Hayden, please hurry. I don't want to be rape. He picks me up and starts making his way downtown. I was crying even more. I heard a door open and slam shut. Hayden! Uncle stops ehatever he was doing. He drops me. My aunt walks in and takes the check from Hayden. They start beating her. I wanted to help but I couldn't. I was beyond scared. I was in fetal position in the corner. I was molested by my uncle. I watch in horror of them beating my twin. I was crying. We heard a snap and Hayden cries out. I think he broke something. They were done and left. I crawled up the stairs. I made it to bed and just fell asleep.

I was woke up later by Hayden.

"Wake up. We're leaving." I hurried and got my clothes. I got my money and was waiting on Hayden. We looked in the mirror. I wish it was back to the times were people thought we were twins. We went to the window and I remembered Sugarplum. My eyes go round.

"Wait! I can't leave Sugarplum! I need her!" I whisper but yelled.

"Oh for God's sake! What do you want to do, ride her to freedom?" She whisper yells back. I nod my head and she rolls her eyes. We sneak down to the barn. I get Sugarplum ready. Packed some food and water for her. I staddled her up and we put the bags on her. There were only three. Hayden jumps in front. This is my horse.

"Why should you ride up front?" I whisper yelled

"Because you'll obey the speed limits damn it! Get on!" I shurg and got on. We got out of the barn and took off. Fast horses don't scare me. Everything else does. We were riding for a while till we came to a friend of hayden.

"Roxie!" She yelled as she came out of the house. Hayden introduced me and told her everything while I got my horse ready. She let me use the shed and I made sure everything was alright for Sugarplum.

"Everything will be better soon, Sugarplum." I whisper to her. I kiss her forehead and went to go find Hayden. We crawled into the bed. My thoughts went back to earlier. Was he really going to try and rape me, again? It doesn't matter now. We are on our own.
