Fluttering her eyes, Hazel begins to wake up. Hazel lifts her arm up to look at the damage. It is almost healed, only slight marks of where the Vargulf had bitten her.
It really pays to be a Lycan with the fast healing processes. She sets her arm down onto the bed and pushes herself to sit up. Hazel realises wires are attached to her arm. Her eyes follow the wires to find the machine beside her, that makes a quiet beeping noise. However, she was in her own room. Hazel scans her room and to find no one else around. Sighing, she leans her head back.
Yup, I can't sit here any longer.
Hazel pulls the wires out from her arm, the machine makes a long consent beeping noise. Hazel slides off the bed, her bare feet hitting the freezing cold wooden floor.
Thud, thud, thud.
The door swings open and Alonzo stands with a scared expression. His eyes roam the room and stop when they land on Hazel. She shoots him a smirk.
"You thought I died," she chuckles. "Can't get rid of me that easy." Hazel walks over to the wardrobe, pulling the doors open.
"Don't do that ever again," he comes into the room and slams the machine off. Hazel begins to pull clothes out.
She rolls her eyes. "Like I said you can't get rid of me that easy, but it's nice to know you care."
Alonzo pulls an facial expression that reads, 'really bitch?'.
"Now get out, I'm changing. Then I want to know what I missed." Once Alonzo leaves the room, Hazel pulls on a white t-shirt and a pair of black leggings. Then precedes to grab a pair of socks and trainers. Hazel walks quickly out of the room and down the hall towards her office.
"How many dead and how many injured?" Hazel asks immediately, taking her seat behind her desk. Her eyes skimming over the papers in laid out in front of her on the desk.
Alonzo sat on the other side of her desk with Darcy. "Seven dead, twelve injured," Darcy answers. Hazel turns the pages over.
"Do we know how many Vargulfs there was?" Hazel asks reading over the dead and injured profiles.
"We think twenty. We have twelve dead bodies belonging to the Vargulfs and two in the cells," Alonzo speaks, watching her read over the information.
"Twenty seems like a low number to send into a pack with over a thousand in it," Hazel thinks aloud. "Unless it was a warning for something. Have the prisoners said anything?"
"No they refuse to speak. We haven't even heard them mutter a word," Alonzo tells her and leans forward in his chair.
"Clearly they stole that woman from the Dustfall pack. Why? What do they possibly want?" Hazel mumbles. "An attack they knew they were going to lose, and a kidnapping for what?" Hazel groans in frustration. Her stomach rumbles. "I'm going to get food, can't think on a empty stomach."
