Running her hand through her hair, she stresses. Turning the page over, she reads the squiggly handwritten notes. "If we put more guards on that side, then..." she thinks aloud. "But what if we... no." Hazel leans back into her chair and groans, her hands finding her head.

I've been sitting here for hours.

Getting up from the chair, she paces over to the window. Hazel brushes her hair behind her ear, looking out though the glass window watching the kids play. The little girl throws a stone which lands on the two of the hop scotch drawing. Then, she proceeds to hop along it. Hazel smiles at the sight.

I have to protect my pack. This happiness is everything.

The little girl high fives the small boy, with a huge grin across her face. Turning a way from the window, she decides to find out if Alonzo got security doubled up. Slowly, she walks through the doors of her office, going down the stairs and knocks three times on Alonzo's office door.

"Come in," Hazel pushes the door open and finds Alonzo sitting behind his desk with lots of white sheets of paper scattered across it.

"Hey Hazel," Alonzo looks up from the papers and greets Hazel with a small smile.

"How did doubling up the security go?" Hazel asks walking towards the desk. Alonzo grabs a large sheet of paper with the layout of the pack on it.

"Well, we put two more warriors at the front gate, three on the left boarder and the right. Then at the back we packed one more, because there is already six warriors along that boarder," he explains, then moves the page to the side, grabbing a smaller page he hands it to Hazel. "This has the new schedules of the warriors, most of them have doubled their hours, or a quarter of their hours. I had to keep in mind some of these men and woman have to spend time with family, so I didn't want them to not be able to see them."

"Yes, that's perfectly fine with me. Family is important," she agrees and sets the page down. "Great work."

"Thank you Alpha," he nods.

Hazel smiles and turns around to leave. "Hazel wait." Turning around, she looks at him curiously.

"I think you should give him a chance. Love only happens once, especially for us Lycans. If the moon and stars put you two together, then it must be able to work. The only thing you can do is try."

"Alonzo, it'll hurt us both more if I reject him later. If I do it from the start the heartbreak is only small and more copiable," her eyes leave his face and look to the floor, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Why am I telling him this?

"Well maybe you won't have to."
