Chapter-09- Ruben

Unimpressed Without saying a word. I take the picture from within my pocket and show it to her. As she reaches for it I growl slightly not wanting to release it. Adelphi takes the picture, gazing at it showing a heartfelt smile. Her words coming forth, resonate a mother's love. "ALEXI. The beloved Wulf of our pack and son of my ALPHA CARRIE of the CELESTIAL GUARDIAN PACK".

Her proud emotions clear in her tone of voice. So full of love is it, my rage begins faltering, quieting down. Even Crimson calms down sighing with a huff.

Continuing to smile lovingly as she gazes at the picture, Adelphi starts caressing my mate's side of the picture as if he were HER son. Internally, I am awed at the genuine love she shows for my mate. At this moment her words repeat themselves in my head and it hits me. THE WOMAN IN THE PICTURE!! NOW I REMEMBER THAT IS WHO SHE IS!! ALPHA CARRIE Of THE CELESTIAL GUARDIAN PACK!

I remember now. We briefly met her at the International Wulf conference held in Florida. but Alexi was not with her and I did not pick up his scent on her. But how? Crimson should have been able to sense something.

Yet that was 11 years ago. She is powerful indeed, I remember her turning towards me direction from across the hall as I approached briefly looking at me. Her gaze upon me was tender like my mother's own. I remember Crimson,  Wined and told me to bow to her and we did.

She tapped my shoulder wulf speaking to me "It is a pleasure to meet you Crimson ALPHA of the CRIMSON MOUNTAIN PACK. I know we shall meet again soon...... (she nods) Ruben."

Of all the Wulves present, Crimson & I were the only two she addressed by name. Before parting, Alpha Cary gave me a brief hug as she allowed her male rude cub, a sassy brown skinned male "Mama Alpha we have to go" to pull her away. I remember, as he guided her away, for a moment she remained lookin back to me locked in gazes she shot me a wulf speak also "You'll get used to him".

But it was her facial expression which stayed with me. A mother's gaze. My eyes begin stinging me now she knew. She knew then, she knew HER SON Alexi was my mate! A second realization hits me, That's how Crimson knew it wasn't HER IN THE PICTURE!! She also knew then, we three are the same, CELESTIAL GUARDIANS!!

My rage completely fades from me. I speak my voice powerful now as the Alpha I am, firm showing my status. "Adelphi, ALEXI is my mate. I have searched for my mate believing I would never find them. I began to give up hope. Now, after all this time I have found HIM. I believe he is in danger, I picked up the scent of two other Wulves, He was taken Adelphi He is in Danger. Can you help me?"

However, Adelphi detects the slight urgency in it. She looks at me with understanding, her voice expressed of wisdom of the ages "Ahhh, all has been made clear" she says.

"It explains why ALEXI had suddenly bolted urgently to leave his apt. The GODDESS must have finally awoken the mate bond within you both and he must've scented you as well. He's always possessed an unrivaled and skilled tracking ability"

I am stunned. He scented me! My heart accelerates, pounding in my chest causing me to feel jittery again. "My mate" Saying those words with my head down proudly I smile again.

He was coming out to find me, I smile even more knowing he smelled me from such a distance and reacted to the Mate Bond as I did. My mate is Alexi Maisonet of the Celestial Guardian Pack.

Crimson's Wulf speak tone excited "HE SCENTED US!! He was coming to look for us  Ruben. Our mate is special!!"

With a simple hand gesture the seer motions for me to sit beside her and I do. As I sit she begins "Things are not as you may be thinking. I ask you to calm yourself and Crimson your celestial Wulf. If you allow me a moment to explain."
