Chapter-36- Hidden Mate

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, tears more kisses, and hugs. My pack really felt comfortable with both the old Alpha and Luna. They even went for a run together. RUBEN & I were happy to finally have some alone time. We went and sat on the ridge overlooking the waterfalls. As I laid, back pressed against the maple tree, RUBEN decided to lay down stretching himself out beside me, his back on the ground as he Placed his head on my lap, hands folded on his chest both of us looking towards the sky. We are just admiring it's clearness and starry filled sky. RUBEN remembers Roberts weird reaction.

"Mulatto something happened today with my Omega Robert." Alexi turns his eyes to look at me asking "Is he ok?" I respond "Dunno, he freaked out after sniffing the air. He actually turned pale and started back down to the ledge." Showing concern Alexi asks "I noticed he was not around with everything going on. Why do you think it was?" "I don't know but would you mind if we went for a walk to talk to him bringing him dinner?" Alexi smiles at me "no problem pa, or should I say Koooooo-jak!!" we laugh, as I kiss him "whatever name you want to call me is fine. just CALL ME"We get up from our little spot, and after putting together some food for him. We head for the car at the other side of the bank parked by the old cabin. After walking for about a half hour. We see the clearing of the old cabin coming into view. RUBEN sniffs the air, smiles and says to me "he's in the car" I felt bad for him "Why didn't he stay with us?"

We arrive & I tap on the minivan window saying, "let's find out" The car door opens and Robert steps out. He removes his hat "Alpha good evening. Um, is everything ok?" I step out from the other side of RUBEN "hi Robert I am Alexi, nice to meet you." Roberts stammers, his eyes averting looking straight at me "um um um. Hi Luna" he glances back to RUBEN "Alpha is everything ok?

RUBEN hands him the bag of food with a slight rought nature using an Alpha tone saying "Luna and I thought you might be hungry being that you disappeared, and we have not seen you since. Wanna clear that up?" I pick up Rubens' voice tone. One of authority and slightly bellow. Without meeting his gaze Robert responds "yes Alpha, sorry Alpha. My Wulf smelled his mate." A happy RUBEN exclaims "WHAT!! THAT'S GREAT! But he stops now, Rubens' face went stern, his voice Alpha "Why didn't you go to them and why did they not scent you?" Robert spoke with a slight sense of fear as his eyes stared at the ground. Not meeting his ALPHAs Gaze "because according to Selene Omegas don't get to have mates. She made me go to the seer and have a hindering potion made."

I got pissed and I look to Ruben who exploded into a tirade. His rage turned mine off instantly. "She MADE YOU DO WHAT! HOW DARE SHE! Listen to me you have a right to have a mate just like anyone else!" Ruben did not realize poor Robert was cringing under his booming voice. I grab Rubens hand "hey calm down this is not about you remember?" RUBEN's eye close for a second. Then he opens them again "sorry mulatto, your right" He turns to Robert "I'll deal with Selene when we get back. Who is your mate?" I look at a clearly scared Robert. I was also getting irritated with Ruben's Alpha aggressiveness. I nudge RUBEN "let me handle this. Go away"

RUBEN looks at me frustrated. My eyes had gone lighter, my own voice tone was serious "Now". Ruben huffs but walks away. I look to Robert who was ready to jump like a cat. I am genuine in my approach and he starts to calm down, slowly. Questioning I ask "um, ya wanna tell me who it is Robert?" Robert now looks to me, meeting my gaze "Luna Pls, I would rather not." I can tell he is genuinely scared.

"Robert, having a mate completes us in so many ways. I suffer from Post- Traumatic Amnesia and yet RUBEN came looking for me, loving me as I am. Will I ever get back my memory? I don't know. I was scared before of having a mate. What will he think of me and how will he react? Yet now, I know that it no longer matters. I am loved & accepted, by my mate and I am home." Robert looks up at me with soft eyes, relaxed and looking for love. But I can tell he does not want to say. I try to coax him thinking it is one of Clementina & titos pack members. But I am wrong, very, VERY WRONG!

Robert's next words take the breath out of me. Completely. "ummm, it is the chocolate Wulf..... ...Luna....... your brother Randall." I am stunned "Randall?? MY RANDALL!!"

RUBEN hearing me and comes back to me in an instant Beaming & grinning "MY BETA, Randall is your mate? THAT'S EXCELLENT!" Ruben is overly enthusiastic "Congratulations! Come on let's go tell him!" and turns to head back. Robert shrinks back away from him "Pls Alpha No Pls I AM TERRIFIED!" RUBEN is confused at Robert's response. Yet I understand "let me handle this Amor Bello mio, pls. I know fear, it's a bitch." Ruben looks at me a little confused. Then his facial expression changes to one of patience. "okay" but he remains with us now.

Turning my eyes to Robert "I know and understand your fear, Robert. But Randall is my brother more than my Beta. He also deserves to know. I promise and trust me, TRUST ME he will not reject you. I will give you a few days to come out to him. Ok?" Robert looks at me with relief slightly happy "Yes, yes Luna. I will, Thank you". We stay with Robert for a little more, explaining why it is important and our need as wulves to have our mates for the longevity of life we face. RUBEN asks him many questions about SELENE. Getting answers, he wished he never asked. From the occasional murderous look on Kojak's face. I had to step in and reassure Robert a few times. Poor SELENE that Bitch in TROUBLEEE!!

After ending our conversation with Robert and saying good night, ALEXI & I begin walking back as we now dubbed it the "Pack Cabin". I reach for and hold my mates hand as we were leaving Robert. Funny, Something I never did before, as I never thought myself the mushy sentimental type. Since having found my mate, I am happy and can't help myself. Holding my mates left hand in my right without even thinking about it feels good. I momentarily look up at the star lit sky lighting the path we follow leading back to the pack cabin. I take this opportunity and I start a conversation "you know this is wrong. Randall deserves to know. Also, there is the matter of SELENE. I never knew she was malicious."

Remembering something I stop "Mulatto there is something I need to tell you." He looks at me. My face is deadly serious, my voice takes a grim tone. "You are my true Luna and my only mate. I would never mate with anyone else. But for the sake of the pack. I made a promise to SELENE. I promised if I had not found my true Luna. I was ready to have a Luna for my pack and only for my pack not because I loved them. That Luna would have been SELENE."

"Well, then it is a good thing you found me. She's a real bitch" RUBEN laughs at me saying "how did I get so blessed?" and kisses me. I pull back from his kiss "Your ass is toast dumb ass. For making such a stupid fucking arrangement with a real, as Randall says BE-YOTCH!" I see hurt on his face. I want to stop this, so smiling I tell him "But SHE, is done in OUR pack. I will personally see to that "You are MINE ONLY AND I DON'T SHARE!" a growl in my voice

"Our pack?" I smile "Amor I love you" and he affectionately kisses me. Alexi pulls us back on the path to continue walking "yeah, yeah your ass is still in trouble" I am behind him holding him in a bear hug, growling in his ear, walking penguin style for a few feet. "leather huh? Grrr I can get into it." He just laughs.

As we continue walking thru the woods I noticed, ALEXI became distracted. My mate is deep in thought, it bothered me not knowing why my mate had become distant from me so suddenly.
