Dal POV
"Don't do this!" She yelled through clenched teeth. I didn't listen and kept going.
"You can't stop me!" I yelled back as we ran to the park.
"Dallas don't do this! I'm  not about to lose you!" she yelled, out of breath and in tears as she jumped on my back causing me to stumble. She held me to the ground as we heard the sirens behind us.
"Dallas you're a stubborn person and so am I. If you think I'm gonna let you do this then you are insane. Dal I'll get you outta this mess if you'll let me." She begged with tears in her eyes. I sighed and watched the hope grow in her eyes.
"At least you tried," I said pushing her off me.
"Johnny wouldn't have wanted this." She knew that was my weakness.
"What would Johnny have wanted then?" I asked turning around to face her.
"He would have wanted me to get you out of this."
"Get me out of this!?" That's all it took for her to grab my hand and drag me somewhere.
"What is this dump?" I asked her.
"Its my hide away," she announced proudly.
"How long have you been 'hiding away' here?"
"Well since mom and dad died," she told me. I looked around.
"Look stay here for a while. I'll be back. I don't know how easy it is to see you from outside of here so stay low."
I nodded. "When will you be back?"
"Probably in the morning. I wanna make sure the fuzz ain't gonna find you" I nodded. She left and went back to her house.

Y/N POV
I left and went back to my house in tears. We lost Johnny and now Dal is hiding from the fuzz.
"Where have you been?" Darry asked when i walked through the door. His eyes softened when he seen I had been crying.
"What's wrong?" Soda asked.
"Johnny's dead! You guys act like it was nothing!" I yelled at them. They were still nursing their wounds.
"Sis, it's not that we don't care it's just that we knew it was gonna happen..." Soda told me softly. I looked at them.
"You guys knew it was going to happen yet you chose you to fight a battle that we will never win instead of going to see him?"
"Y/N/N... we had to fight. You fought too," Darry said.
"I chose to fight thinking that there was a chance that Johnny wasn't gonna die! Yea maybe I knew he was gonna die but that thought was in the very back of my mind. I just believed that Johnny had enough fight in him to make it." I said through clenched teeth.
"Don't be an idiot. Y/N. You of all people would know that if he lived he would be wheelchair bound at the least. He might even be stuck in a bed for the rest of his life. He would be stuck in the house that he hated so much that he would spend cold nights in the lot with the running risk of getting pneumonia. The bed in the house where he got beat and had liquor bottles thrown at him. The house where if he said the wrong word he would get cussed out with everything under the sun. You act like he would have walked out of that hospital like nothing happened. You are so naive it hurts." Pony told me. I flipped him off and ran to my room. I slammed my door shut and laid down on my bed. I heard them yelling at Pony. I heard a knock on the door.
"What?" I hissed.
"We wanna talk," Soda said.
"What is there to talk about?" I asked.
"Well for starters, somebody wants to apologize," Darry said.
"Fiiiine," I groaned as i heard them open the door. I looked up at them. Pony looked like a puppy that had been scolded and was now going to pout in the corner with his tail tucked between his legs. Steve not so nicely nudged his shoulder.
"Look Y/N, I'm sorry."
I stayed quiet. "You're supposed to say "thank you Pony"." Darry said.
"Well I'm not gonna lie. Just because he says sorry doesn't make it any better. Its like putting a band-aid over a bullet hole."
He sighed. "What can he do to make it up to you?" Soda asked. I crossed my arms.
"Bring Johnny back!" I yelled at him.
"That's it, I'm done!" Pony stated, walking out of the room. Darry sighed and put a hand on his forehead.
"Soda go get him," Darry said. Soda nodded and went after him. Darry sat down on the bed beside me. "Y/N/N look. I know you and Johnny were really close...
And I know that you...
Look it's hard to come up with the right words." He sighed. He looked over at Two-Bit and Steve for a little help.
"We know that you and Johnny were more than just friends," Steve said. I took a shaky breath.
"How?"
"Dallas might have....told us." Two-BIt said.
"That's the last time I tell him anything," I muttered. They laughed lightly.
"Where is he anyway?" Darry asked.
"That doesn't matter at the moment." They looked at me.
"He robbed a gas station and the cops are after him."
"Well where is he?"
"In a special place."
"Well can we know where that place is?" Steve asked.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because it's my hideaway and I don't want anyone else to know where that's at." They rolled their eyes.
"Whatever." Darry said. I just pointed at the door signalling them to leave. They shuffled out of the room. When they left I burst into tears. I couldn't believe Johnny was gone and I couldn't believe that Dal told them about me and Johnny. I fell asleep crying like I have for the past  week.
-----------------------------------the-next-morning--------------------------------------------------
I woke up earlier than normal. I heard everyone in the living room. I got up and walked in to see....everyone.
Even Johnny.
Now I was confused.
"Hey Y/N," Johnny said walking over to me and kissing my cheek.
"Hey?" I said, half in a daze.
"Something wrong?" Johnny asked. I looked at Johnny closely. I grabbed his hand and looked at it. It was perfectly normal. No burns, no scratches, no scrapes. I looked up at his questioning eyes.
"Y-y-y-you died..." I said. He looked at me confused.
"Y/N. I didn't die." Johnny said. I shook my head.
"You got burned really bad in a church." He laughed lightly, probably thinking I was crazy.
"Baby why would I be in a church?"
"You was saving little kids from burning to death. The roof collapsed. Dal went in after you. He got burned. But you died."
He looked at me. "Baby I'm still here. I didn't get burned. Dal didn't either and we are still alive. It was just a bed dream sweetie. Thats never gonna happen to me." He pulled into a hug. I started crying.
"I thought I lost you Johnny." He rubbed circles on my back.
"You're not gonna lose me." I looked up at him. "Promise?"
"Promise," he assured me. I smiled.
"Awww they're so cute," Dally joked. I looked over at Dal with harsh eyes. Johnny chuckled and kissed the top of my head.
"Johnny she's gonna attack!" Dally laughed. I rolled my eyes.
"She's not in the mood for those jokes Dally. Knock it off." Dally backed off. "You want cake baby?" he asked me. I shook my head no.
"You wanna watch mickey?" He asked. I nodded.
"Ok. come on." Johnny led me over to the couch and sat down with me. Pony walked into the room and rolled his eyes at us.
"Stop acting like that you two." I flipped him off and cuddled up to Johnny even more. He rolled his eyes and Johnny smiled and kissed the top of my head. I smiled and watched tv, then eventually fell asleep happier than I have ever been.
