MONDAY
[ ALLISON'S POV ]

I walked down the long grass path to the coffee shop that was apparently very good from what I've heard around campus.

Class killed me today and I wish I could say I was joking, but I actually feel dead.

It's only been a short time here and I feel more stressed about life than I ever have.

There's so much work, I have to keep up with studying, keep up with my social life, and... I still have this constant pain in my heart for Ethan that is draining me.

I thought this high school type drama would stay in high school, but it didn't.

"Allison!" My name was shouted from a distance; my head turning in the direction of the voice.

Jeff was smiling holding onto the straps of his backpack while jogging towards me.
I stopped to wait up for him while he caught up to me.

"Hey Jeff." I greeted him once he was standing next to me. We both started walking towards the coffee shop.

"What are you up to?" He asked in a bubbly tone.

"I was just about to go get some coffee and get caught up on home work. Wanna join?" I offered. I could really use some company right now.

"I could go for a coffee." His smile genuinely made me feel better. He's so positive all the time he just has that effect on everyone.

We reached the glass door; him opening it for me, "thanks!" A small smile appeared onto my lips.

"I'll go get your coffee, you go get a table." He nodded his head over to the table that was next to the glass window.

"Do you even know what I order?" I laughed lightly while raising my eyebrows.

He put his hand to his chest; mouth dropped pretending to be shocked. "You think I don't know what is your coffee order after ten years of knowing you?"

I shrugged, "true." I turned on my heal walking towards the table while Jeff stood in line.

A couple minutes later he walked back to our table holding both coffees. "Here's the coffee that the little lady has been drinking since she was thirteen."

I grabbed the drink out of his hand not being able to hold in my smile. "Thank ya, Thank ya."

"No problem." He assured me while sitting down into the chair across from me. "So, what school work do you have?"

"Just a ton of journalism stuff. I have to write a ten page essay about something that inspires me." I rolled my eyes.

My hand reached for my backpack pulling out the rubric for the essay.

"Didn't you do a ton of these throughout high school?" He asked while he flipped through the rubric. "And you're a writer this should be easy for you, what's so hard for you?"

I let out a huff out air out of my nose while crossing my arms and resting them on the table. "I've been lacking inspiration."
