Chapter Fourteen - The Date

Linda Goodman says Sagittarians will even take their bestfriends to their honeymoon. Anne invited Tanya to tag along on her date with Tyler and she more than happily agreed. It was a last minute decision and she did not even tell Tyler that Tanya would be joining them. Maybe it was her nerves or something. She could not do it alone. Tyler would have to just deal with it.

Guess which place Anne chooses for the date? No, not movies or a proper dinner date. She chooses to go to funpark. Fine dining in restaurant was too classy and far too uncomfortable for her. She had never been too elegant and she got really nervous in such scenarios. Funpark was casual setting and she really need to let loose. All the drama in her life was proving too much to handle. She needed a break and it sounded like a good idea to her.

When Tyler showed up at her door, he was evidently shocked to see two girls instead of one, coming out the door. Tanya jumped into his car, thankfully in the back seat. Anne gave an awkward smile to Tyler and sat in the passenger seat. Throughout the drive, Tanya was talking non-stop and even both of them together could not match up to her level of energy. In the funpark, Tyler had hardly paid for the tickets and Tanya was already rushing inside like a small kid. She insisted on trying out all the rides but Anne felt dizzy after the first five rides and decided to wait it out. After next two rides, Tyler also decided to join Anne.

"Well, she's something, huh?" Tyler commented.

"Yeah, I love her but it's taxing being around her." Anne confessed with a look of embarrassment. She didn't know what to talk about with him. That's why she didn't want to be alone with him.

"She's cute."

"Well, I thought we were on a date." Anne playfully teased him.

"Yeah, you are cute too."

"Hah you have to say it since we are in fact on a date." Anne never knew how to take a compliment.

"Anyways, I like keeping my options open."

Before Anne could hit him, he hopped off sticking out his tongue. What a baby! She knew he wanted her to run after her but she was far too tired to do so. She just sat there with a blank expression on her face. Tyler got confused and ran back to her. That is when he got a punch on his arm.

"Ow not fair."

"Well boohoo."

Tyler was about to say something back when Tanya came back from the rides.

"I'm tired."

"It's about time. Let's go home?" Anne looked at Tyler for his response.

Without a word, he escorted the girls to the exit.

After dropping Tanya off to her house, Tyler finally spoke, "I hope we will be alone for the next date."

"Y-You want to go on another date with me?" Anne stammered with nervousness.

"Only if you want to... and you come alone." Tyler winked and Anne looked out the window, not knowing what to say. She was feeling really uncomfortable but did not want to reject Tyler. He had been nothing but sweet to her. When she looked back at him again, she found him looking at her expectantly with puppy dog eyes.

"Y-yes."

"Sweet..." Tyler fist bumped and hit the accelerator.

Anne smiled feebly at him and tried to battle the butterflies in her stomach. She was already feeling nervous about being alone with him on a date.

"I don't bite, you know?" Tyler said as if reading her mind. "Or do I?" And made a scary face.

This made Anne laugh out loudly and she knew she would be okay with him.

When the car was about half a block away from her house, Anne made him stop the car. She never knew what was going on in her house and she did not want to get embarrassed in front of her date. She just made up an excuse about strict parents and got out of the car. Before she knew it, Tyler was also out and in front of her. The butterflies decided to show up again. Her heartbeat was so loud, she was sure her mother could hear it. As Tyler leaned in towards her, she took a step back but found her back against the car door. She leaned further back. She was not ready to kiss him, yet.

Tyler opened his eyes and looked into her eyes as if to say "It's okay, you can trust me."

"Ummmmm next date???" Anne smile sweetly at him.

"Next date." Tyler smiled back and kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll walk from here." Anne said in a barely audible voice.

"Sure darling." Tyler said and got back into the car.

As she started walking towards her home, she hear the car following her. She turned back to see Tyler escorting her in his car as if to see to it that she was home safely. She looked away and could not help smiling at the sweet gesture and entered the house.
