Just like that, I was alone. I went back to my bedroom and grabbed my phone. I had a missed call from Darren, and the rest were all from Joe. I quickly called Darren back, but he didn't answer. Figures.. Darren was always busy.. He had to write talking to me into his schedule! I needed to get out of the house, and lucky for me, Lauren just texted me! : Hey Lily!! Wanna grab a coffee?
At Starbucks, Lauren and I chatted about random stuff for awhile, but then she got serious...
"Hey Lily... umm.. I kinda know what happened with you and Joe because he umm... told me... He cried to me because he felt so bad that he did that to you when he knew you were happy with Darren.. and he said he isn't gonna drink ever again.. He reallly loves you hun.."
"Wow.. umm.. Lauren look I already feel horrible about this hole thing because I love Darren.. and I cheated.. And I always loved Joe.. We jusy can't be together, I'm happy with Darren."
"Will you atleast talk to Joe?"
"I already kinda did.. he came over this morning"
"Really?! Lily!! He realllly loves you!! I mean, don't break up woth Darren, but gain your friendship with Joe back. He toldme how close you two were.."
So after we were done, I went with Lauren back to The Manor. I was prepared to talk to Joe, but he wasn't there.. Of course, my luck. I stayed and watched Toy Story with Lauren, Meredith, Brian who wasn't obsessed with squirrels otherwise known as Holden, and Nick. I kept looking at the door, but Joe never came in. Lauren drove me back to my apartment and I got ready to videochat Darren.
Our conversation:
"Heyy Lils I miss you so much!"
"I miss you too Dare!"
"Listen, I have this Saturday off, so I'm gonna fly in Friday night and we are going out with my friends! Sound good baby?"
"Umm.. yeah sure Dare, I just really want to see you."
"Alright sweetie, we will have Friday night all to ourselves Lils.."
"Funnn."--I saidwith a little giggle
So in bed that night, I knew that tomorrow, Wednesday I had to talk to Joe and mend our friendship.. We couldn't be awkward on Saturday.. I texted Joe before hopping in the shower, : Hey Joe, come over tomorrow at like 10?
When I got out, I had two messages : Ok Lily, anything for you
The second was also from Joe: I will bring coffee, still like iced carmellattes right?
I smiled at this, his memory really surprised me. : Ok Joe sounds good, I still love carmellattes!
JOES THOUGHTS:
Well atleast she is coming around.. Lauren told me what she said earlier, I have to thank her for that.. I'm gonna have to start with the friendship thing all over again before a relationship, but she's worth it.. I can wait.
