What was shown was that embarrassing video taken of me dancing like a maniac. Even though it was painful to continue watching, my eyes couldn't seem to look away.
"Gabby, how did you get this video?"
"Unfortunately, the whole school is talking about it."
"Are you kidding me?" I got up and started to walk around the cafeteria trying to look for that kid.
I finally spotted him. He was watching the video with a group of friends, and they were dying of laughter. I was about to walk over there and strangled him, but I decided it would be better if I thought about that decision rationally. If I walked over there, one- his group of friends outnumbered me six-to-one, and two- they would just start making more fun of me.
I decided to back away and went back to Gabby.
"Hey, why did you come back?"
"I thought it wouldn't be the best decision in the world to kill him in front of all these people as a witness."
"Oh, true. You should still take your revenge on him."
"I will if I remember later."
Then, I saw Josh walking over to us. He sat down next to Gabby and started talking to me.
"Hey, so I'm guessing you've seen already right?"
I nodded my head.
"Look, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I will find out who did this soon. I promise. Until then, let me know if anyone teases you about it."
I smiled, "Thank you. I will."
He smiled back at me, then stood up to go back to his table. I took a bite of my food and looked at a blushing Gabby.
"Um, are you alright?"
"No, of course I'm not alright. The sexy guy just sat this close to me."
Her reply made me smile.
She suddenly had a confused face and opened her mouth.
"Hey, Avery, how do you know him? Are you two friends or something?"
"Yup, I became friends with him so I could talk about you to him."
"And how is he reacting to it?" she asked. I couldn't tell her he wasn't really interested. It would crush her, but I didn't want to lie either.
"Um, he hasn't said anything bad about you so far," she became so happy.
"Yay, we're one step closer to breaking him down," Gabby's enthusiasm is her best quality.
"I mean sure if you want to put it that way."
After school
Today was Friday which meant I had rehearsals. For being my first play, I don't think I'm doing that bad. Maybe I should audition for more in the future because this turned out to, actually, be pretty fun.
After a couple hours or so, the drama teacher dismissed us and ordered that we'd clean up before we left. I went to get my water and sat on the stage. While everyone else was talking, I was texting my mom telling her I would be home shortly.
"Hey, Avery!" I heard someone calling out my name and turned my head. I saw who it was, and I wasn't pleased. It was Collin. He is such a jerk, that it makes perfect sense why he was chosen to play Jafar.
"What do you want?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
"Nothing, I just wanted to congratulate you on your newfound fame," I looked at him with narrow eyes. "Like everyone else, I watched the video as well, and personally I thought it is ridiculous that only the people in this school get to see a video like this. So you know what I did? I posted it on YouTube and my Instagram account. I suppose I should thank you for all the new hits I'm getting."
My face started to boil with anger, "How dare you do that?"
"Do what? I'm just making you even more famous now. Shouldn't you thank me?"
I started to charge at him, but I was held back by his friends. He started laughing hysterically.
"Hahaha, you are such a jo-" He was cut-off by someone forcefully pulling him to the ground. My eyes widened to see an angry Josh storming his way onto the set. He stomped over to where I was, and the guys holding me down voluntarily backed off out of fear.
"Back off! Don't you ever touch her again! Do you hear me!?"
They all nodded and ran off. Josh then shifted his frightening gaze towards me. I didn't want to look into those eyes, so I stared at the ground.
"Josh, I-" He hurriedly walked over to me and took me in his embrace.
After a moment or two, he finally spoke: "I told you I would protect you."
My body seemed to freeze. I didn't move a muscle nor could I say one word. I just stood there in shock without even hugging him back.
