Facing the past

Janja had nightmares about fighting someone. He couldn't see who it was. But he could see that it was a girl. He swung his paw and hit her and then he woke up. He looked at Kion and was terrified when he saw what he had done to him. Both his front paws was covered in blood and he quickly saw that Kion had lost a lot of blood.

Janja: Oh my god! Kion!

He yelled and then got over to Kion to hold both his paws on where the blood came from.

Janja: Not again! I thought that these days were over!

He yelled and kept holding pressure on the wound.

Kion was awake but was about to pass out.

Janja: Kion plays stay with me. Kion look at me. Whatever you do don't pass out!

Fuli heard Janja's yelling and struggles. So she ran as fast as she could towards the two boys. And then she got there she couldn't believe what she saw.

Fuli: Oh my god, Kion!

She yelled and then ran towards her boyfriend

Fuli: Janja what did you do to him?!

She said angry and frustrated

Janja: I swear I didn't do this on purpose! Just please get help imeadiatley!

He said to her afraid

Fuli nodded.

Fuli: Just keep holding pressure on that wound!

Janja: what do you think I have been doing the last few minutes!?

He yelled frustrated

Fuli ran to Rafiki's tree.

Fuli: Rafiki! Rafiki!

She yelled worried

Rafiki jumped down from the tree and saw the worried cheetah.

Rafiki: What is wrong Fuli?

The mandrill said calm

Fuli: It's Kion he is hurt and he has lost a lot of blood!

She said still worried

Rafiki: Well let's go. And quickly before it's to late!

The mandrill said and was running with Fuli to where Kion was.

When they got there the bleading was stopped and when Rafiki took over Janja passed out because of being exhausted.

Rafiki got some medicine and poured it into the wound.

Rafiki: That should do the trick. Let's wait a couple hours.

He said and left them.

Two hours later

Rafiki and Fuli walked to the place where Kion and Janja was. Kion was awake and then Fuli saw that he was awake she ran over to him and nuzzled him.

Kion: What happend?

The lion said confused

Fuli: Well you were bleeding and left a lot of blood but we just saved you in time.

Rafiki aproached them slowly.

Rafiki: yes believe it or not. Janja saved you

The mandrill smiled

Kion: He did?

He said and looked at the exhausted hyena.

Then Janja slowly woke up aswell.

Rafiki: looks like our hero is awake.

Janja: Ugh what happend?

He said and looked around. He saw Fuli and Rafiki.

Janja: oh no. Here I go again.

Rafiki: Ah you saved Kion. Remember hyena?

He said calm

Janja: I what now?

Fuli got closer to him

Fuli: You saved him from the bleeding remember dummy?

She rolled her eyes

Janja: Oh yeah now I remember.

He tried to force a smile

Rafiki: I think I will leave you three alone. I have a lot of work to do.

He said and began to walk away.

Fuli: Thanks for the help Rafiki!

She smiled

Rafiki: Always here to help!

He waved and then walked out of sight.

Fuli: Janja thank you for saving him. That was really brave and I guess you are not that bad anyway

She said and left the boys alone

Kion standed up on his paws and then sat down. Janja did the same thing.

Kion: Thank you for saving me

He smiled

Janja looked down on the ground with ears hanging.

Kion: Janja what is wrong?

He asked worried for the hyena.

Janja: It was me that did this to you. I'm so sorry.

He said embarrassed

Kion: Well I know you didn't do it on purpose. What happend?

He asked

Janja sighed

Janja: Well I had a nightmare about fighting someone. It was a girl. I think it was my ex girlfriend.

He looked down again

Kion listened

Kion: Go on

He said calm

Janja: Okay so I had a girlfriend once. Her name was Agathi. She was a hyena just like me. She was the most beautiful hyena I ever seen. We started talking with each other and then we began to have feelings for each other. We had a good life for a long time until.....

He stopped and then carried on.

Janja: Until this one day. We argued and had some small fught's. And the last thing I remembered was that I swung my paw right at her face and then on her stomach. There was blood everywhere. On my front paws, the ground and on her. She passed out and I ran away. Away from her. Away from everything.

He began to cry a little

Janja: And then a year after I saw her again. I wanted to go to her and say that I was sorry but I couldn't. I just stood there and saw her being with her family and I just simply walked the other way

He said in a crying voice

Janja: And ever since I have felt anyone laying close to me I end up having this nightmare of me and her fighting and end up doing it to the person who is laying next to me

He explained.

He then began to cry

Kion nuzzled him and hugged him and said

Kion: That explains everything. I'm so sorry to hear what happend. But I'm glad you told me

He smiled

Janja stopped crying and said

Janja: Thank you

Kion: For what?

Janja: For being the only one that listened. And for being such a good friend.

He layed his head on Kion's shoulder.

Kion: No problem Janja. I will always be here for you

He smiled and closed his eyes and layed his head against Janjas head.
