Morgan seemed bothered when she opened the door, almost angry, but Jay paid it no mind. It was probably just nerves. He had quite a few of his own.
He led her to the hangar, where Poe was waiting alongside the General. He was saying something to an orange BB unit, dismissing its beeps and whistles with numbered variations of "it'll be fine" and "relax". The General stared at Jay pointedly as she began to speak.
"Okay, you three. If you have anything else you think you should share that might be useful on this mission, now is the time." Silence. Jay maintained an indifferent expression. The General sighed. "Fine. Man your fighters. Morgan, you come with me," she gestured to the TIE Morgan would pilot. The girl nodded. "And may the Force be with us all."

And as Jay boarded his own T-70, mind racing and heart pounding, he had no idea just how much the Force would be against them.

Just how much of a mistake he'd made.

And just how much he'd regret it.
