A PROMISE TO FOREVER

Time be on our side 
A hopeful wish I cannot hide 
Love can only last as much 
As much as life can do 

                          
And so my soul yearns for you each day 
Seeking even just a glimpse of your face 
My heart longs for you to stay 
Praying for forever's embrace 

                          
And though forever is never sure
I will hold on to the thought of having you each day 
To love, to cherish, to protect, and to care for 
Until our lives slowly fade away
