(Steven's POV)
I did not see Garnet. And I did not see the corrupted gem. But I did see someone. Sapphire. I saw her rush towards us, crying, and in her cupped palms revealed a cracked red gem, Ruby. It was hard not to cry. Pearl let out a gasp of alarm, and Amethyst had stared in horror. I could feel tears run down my eyes.
"She's cracked..." I stuttered, I couldn't say anything else, I couldn't say anything reassuring. My words were choked at the bottom of my throat. Sapphire wouldn't look at me. She knew, she knew that there was possibility that I couldn't do it, she had seen it. I took the gem into my hands. Nervously I licked my lips and planted a soft kiss on the surface of the gem. Nothing had happened. I began to panic, my heart leaped. Everyone was watching. Oh no, not now! I held my breathe. A faint red light glowed and slowly, the crack on Ruby's gem bonded itself back together. A sigh of relief swept through the air. With my still shaking hands, I handed the gem back to Sapphire. I knew that Sapphire would have missed Ruby dearly. She took the gem into her hands and smiled. She looked up at me and ruffled my hair with one hand. "Thank you Steven." Her tone was soft and gentle, causing me to relax instantly. I looked back at Pearl and Amethyst. I gave them a small smile.
"Let's go home." I said at last. They nodded in an agreement and we began to climb the long slope back up to the warppad.

(Coral's POV)
5 hours, 21 minutes and about 6 seconds. That's how long they have been out on this mission. Time to me, was extremely important, and when you have nothing much to do, you simply keep track of time. 12 seconds now. I glanced once to the warppad and back at the clock. 22 minutes and 2 seconds, now. I sighed. My memory was still sharp. This really confused me though, I still couldn't understand what I did to infuriate Garnet. She wouldn't even look at me.... I tried to look back, but the events were blank. It was a gap in my timeline. And it wasn't just that one hole, there were many gaps. This scared me, but I had too much to think about. These gaps had seemed so minor compared to present day situations. 25 minutes and 23 seconds. Suddenly, a blast of blue light shot up from the warppad. I shut my eyes and sighed. "5 hours 25 minutes and 34 seconds." I reported. "That's how long you have been gone for..."There was no response from them. I opened my eyes and looked up. I nearly fell off the couch, due to the surprise. Everyone seemed so weak and tired. They seemed shaken too, but Garnet wasn't standing with them, it was only Sapphire standing, alone, with a red gem in her hands. I frowned. What in the galaxies has happened?

Steven had filled me in with everything, about how they were fighting the corrupted gem and how Garnet had fallen of the cliff with it. How Ruby's gem had been cracked and Steven had healed it. I was surprised by this bit, I never knew that Steven processed of such power, but then again, his mother had been Rose Quartz. As he wrapped up his story, I began to think.
"Sapphire must be really upset.." I muttered. Steven nodded.
"It's hard to be separated from someone you love, even if that someone is coming back. She probably misses her as much as we all do." He replied. I smiled. This boy really did know how to warm up someone with just words.
"I'm going to go talk to her...Where is she?" I asked. "I think she's either in her room or out at the beach." He answered. I thanked him and exited the house, to look for Sapphire at the beach first. For the first time in forever, I once again got a chance to look at the true beauty of the Earth again. It's been ages since I got to look out at the sea. The ocean waves washed against the golden sand. I smiled to myself, Earth truly was amazing. I spotted a small blue figure in the distance. Sapphire. I rushed down the stairs, only to be greeted by a huge pink lion. I patted him on the head.
"And you must be Rose's lion...a revived one...." I looked up at the beast. Oh! I always did love the animals on the Earth! "Sorry buddy, but I have some cheering up to do! See ya later!" I called, while rushing over to Sapphire. The blue gem still held the red gem in her hands. As I got closer, I heard it, the song..... She was singing to Ruby. This aches my heart, slight jealousy overcame me, but I didn't say anything. There was only one person whom I would have loved as dearly as Sapphire had loved Ruby. I walked in silence. Now, I was only a foot away from Sapphire. At the sound of my footsteps approaching, she turned to face me, her one eye that was usually covered with her bangs was revealed. She was greatly upset. "Please go away..." She muttered. I crept closer. What was up with her? I was by her side now. "Hey Sapphire?....You okay?" She didn't look at me. Her hand was holding out the gem. I placed my hand on the red gem only to be stabbed by a sharp piece of ice. I backed up instantly, clutching my hand close. Blood. My blood. Ice. Oh My stars, there was a lot of ice.
"Don't touch my Ruby..." Her voice was cold and threatening. More ice. Dripping blood. Cold, the air was getting very cold. 1 minute and 5 seconds. My head instantly started to keep track of the time on its own. My head was whirling with confusion. I wanted to scream, not as a cry for help, but as a result from utter frustration.
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE DIAMONDS DID I EVER DO TO YOU?!?" I snapped, but instantly closed my mouth shut. This was getting really bad. 3 minutes. My feet were encased with ice. I couldn't move. 4 minutes. I tried yanking me feet out. She floated closer. 4 minutes, 32 seconds. Was she trying to kill me?!? "how, how, HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER?!" She yelled her right hand griped a icicle that was long and slender like a spear. I didn't understand what she saying. What did see mean I don't remember? I didn't see her again for a long time until now! 5 minutes and 17 seconds. My head aches. She was trying to kill me....I didn't want to do this, but I had not much choices left. I summoned my weapon and cut my legs free. Smash! The icy shards flew everywhere. I gritted my teeth. I didn't care enough to care any more. My head still held firm on the time. 7 minutes, 8 seconds I charged at the blue gem pinning her to the ground. A grin slowly went across my face. This was surprisingly fun.....and entertaining... oh I haven't had a chance to do this in a long time. I shoved her body down with my still bleeding arm, as my other hand still firmly gripped onto the handle of the scythe. I wasn't thinking, I couldn't think. I placed the blade against Sapphire's neck. She was trying to force the it away from herself. I gave a slight chuckle. Pathetic. Half of me was horrified, how could I be doing such a thing to Sapphire? But the other half felt wicked and satisfied. This side got the better out of me. Time....time.... 7 minutes 59 seconds. Suddenly, without warning, a sharp object rushed into my face. A bolt of pain shot through me. I let go of her instantly, I yelped in pain. The icicle was driven deep into my forehead. Pain. Pain. Pain. I squirmed on the icy floor, clutching my bloody forehead. I was losing time.... Blurry....everything was disappearing. A blue figure....blood...oh so much blood...
"STOP!!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!?!?" a worried voice, cried out in horror. I couldn't t see who it was. But I knew, it was Rose Quartz.
"Rose?...." I whispered. My voice was weak. No, this was not Rose....it was Steven...The memory hit me like a rocket. I remembered why she was so upset. Time. Time. Time. Everything took 10 minutes....The events were repeating..... 10 minutes... Why couldn't I get the date.... This had happened before..... Realization stumbled upon me once more. 5700 years ago....that's when it happened....that's where she was getting it from.....that same 10 minutes...
