Chapter 4: Electricity
It takes me a while to process what she has just said.
"Me?" I ask Rachel.
"Yes, you."
"Well Rachel, I don't know because... well... isn't Josh part of that? I rather not speak to him." I respond.
"Who says you'll have to?" Rachel says. "You can just spend your time with Dylan, Emily, Jennifer, Alexander, and I. So what do you say?"
I think about it for a second. Me, a popular? Would I be able to pull it off? Would I fit in? I keep contemplating my decision, unable to choose.
"Hello? Earth to Levin." Rachel shouts.
"Oh...haha...sorry. Sure, I will join."
"Okay cool!" Rachel hugs me "At lunch tomorrow, sit with the "populars". Oh if you can't find us, just call me. My number is 813-222-1313. Tata!"
Rachel blows a kiss before waving good bye and exiting the door. Well she's a bit...scary. I walk back over to my bed and throw myself on it. I'm still really upset at what happened today, so I pull out my phone and text Isabelle.
>Destin and I were planning on going out tonight so I won't b back 'till 11, What's wrong?
>I will! Cya later! :P
Well, at least she's happy. But I still need someone to talk to. Maybe Alexander...I pull out my phone, again, and I dial his number. Come on, pick up, please.
"Hello?" Alexander answers.
"Hey. It's Levin."
"Oh hey! What's up?" he asks.
"Well actually, I was calling because I really need somebody to talk to right now."
His voice becomes serious, "What happened Levin?"
"Well I..." the tears begin to well up in my eyes. "Josh, he..." my voice quivers. I can't finish my sentence.
"You know what? I'm coming down to your dorm, right now. Okay? Don't cry, Levin. I promise everything will be okay."
He hangs up. Within ten minutes, he is at my door. I open it to find him standing there with a movie and icecream. Um ok then...
"Hey, i brought a romance movie and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Erhm, I'm not exactly sure what girls do when they go through a breakup...but I see this in movies all the time."
I cant help but chuckle.
"Thank you, come in." I say motioning him into my room.
He sets the movie down next to my tv and hands me the ice cream. He then takes a seat next to me on the Jennifer's bed since my bunk is too small for the two of us.
"So, Levin what happened?" He says, his blue eyes staring into mine. Wow. I never noticed how beautiful they are, it's as if I was staring at the sky.
"Well Josh, he..." I hold back my tears while I explain everything that happened from the start of 2nd period to the chemistry incident. I also thank him for what he did the night of the party when he stood up for me. There was no possible way I could repay him. By the time I'm done explaining, his face is completely in shock.
"Woa. You've been through a lot Levin. He pulls me in for a hug and I sob into his shoulder. He pats my back and runs his hand through my hair. It's comforting. He pulls away and chuckles a bit.
"So how about that movie?"
"Okay, we can watch it." I say.
He comes back after putting the disk in and takes a seat next to me. About 30 minutes into the movie, we are both laying down next to each other, his arm wrapped around my shoulder still trying to comfort me. Little by little, I feel all my troubles fade. It's as if the only thing that matters right now is us......and that corny movie on the tv.
I look over at Alex and he happens to look over at me at the same time and our faces are only about an inch apart. A sudden rush of electricity courses through me.
"Hey...Levin." Alex
whispers, he doesn't move away, not even a bit.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"This movie is stupid." He says and I laugh.
"I know." I whisper back.
An awkward silence fills the air. And neither of us have turned away or moved apart. We stare into each other's eyes for a long time.
"Levin, I...I've been meaning to tell you..." Alex trails off.
"To tell me what?" I ask.
"Levin, I really like you." He says.
"I do too. You have been such a great friend." I say.
"No, I mean...I like you more than that." He says as I stare deeper into his bright blue orbs. Did he just say what I think he said?
"I uh...I-" before I can reply, Alexander closes the little space between us and gently puts his lips on mine. We kiss for about 5 seconds before he pulls back.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-" Alex says.
"It's okay, Alex. We were just caught up in the moment. Don't worry, it's okay." I reply reassuringly but Alex shakes his head.
"No, Levin. I meant what I said, I really like you. But I-" he begins to say something but my eyes are feeling heavy and my hearing is fuzzy. It's not long before I fall deep into my slumber with Alex's arm wrapped around me. It felt great.
To be continued....
