Chapter 21: Oh Alex...
I wake up in Alex's arms. My face hurts a ton and I have a huge headache.
I unwrap myself from Alex's arms and open my closet. I begin to change into my uniform. Alex wakes up shortly afterward while I am putting my hair into my regular braid.
"Why is it always like that? Wear it down, Lev." He says.
"No thank you." I snap while tying my band.
"Whatever." Alex gives up, getting out of bed.
He walks around the room and opens my closet.
"Where do you keep your makeup Levin?" He asks.
"In the bottom drawer of the nightstand, why?" I say, clueless.
Alex walks over to my nightstand, opens the drawer and takes out my make-up bag. Then he walks over to my trashcan and dumps it out.
"Alex!" I yelp.
"What? You look better without it." He says walking over to me. I am standing infront of my mirror and staring at my reflection.
"Also Levin..." he pulls out my hair-tye. "You look better like this." He says.
"Give it back Alexander!" I shout reaching for my hair-tye. But its no use. He's too tall. And that's the only one I had.
Alex laughs like a maniac and then gives me a kiss on my forehead.
"Every guy is going to fawn over you today. Even if it'll make me jealous." He says. I stomp my foot, grumpily.
"See ya in class Levi." He sings, taunting me. I frown, grab my bookbag, and wheel out the door to the commons.

I feel every single guy's eyes on me. No matter where I go, somebody is staring at me. I am going to kill you Alex!
I meet up with Isabelle and Destin in the commons, like we do every morning.
"HOLY COW! Levin, ummm, what holiday is it?" Isabelle schreeches.
"Yeah, um, Alex took my makeup and my hair tye. I didn't really have a choice." I say.
"Yeah, well, 'didn't have a choice' looks good. You look really good. I bet I know why Alex did it." Destin says tauntingly.
"Why?" Isabelle and I say together.
"He wants Josh to think about how much he screwed up, AND he wants Rachel to feel wierded out because every guy is going to be paying attention to you. Girlfriend or not." Destin says matter-of-factly.
"Really?" Isabelle says sarcastically. "Well, you have a girlfriend and you better not go hitting on my best friend."
"Oh relax, Isa. I know I have the best girlfriend ever. No offense, Levin." Destin says bashfully.
"Ohh, so Alex is smarter that what we all give him credit for." Isabelle observes.
"Aw, you're so nice." A voice says from behind. Alex pops up behind Destin.
"You are so mean. Taking an injured girl's makeup and hair tye. I can't believe you." I say sarcastically.
Just then, Rachel enters the courtyard. Every other day, the guys all stop and stare at her, but today her presense is ignored. She shoots me a dagger look, which I completley ignore.
"Someone's jelous of you." Alex says with a laugh.
"And someone's mad at you." I say.
"Oh come on Levin. Let it go." Alex tells me.
Im just about to talk back to him when a cute guy from the football team walks towards our group and taps my shoulder.
"Hey hottie."
Um okay then..."Hi?"
"How would you like to go on a date with this?" He says pointing to himself.
Wow. What an idiot.
"Are you kidding me? No thank you." I reject him.
He walks away and Destin laughs.
"What's so funny?" I ask.
"You."
I playfully punch his shoulder and he gives me a 'why?' look.
The four of us hang out for a while, talking about the randomest things. Then the bell rings and we all head to class.
***
Alex and I enter the lunch room together. We head to our table and sit down. Instantly, I get glares from Jennifer and Rachel. Alex is literally staring at me. Great.
"You look dreadful." Rachel insults me.
"Hey everyone. Guess what!" Rachel excidetly squeled.
"What?" Josh, Alex, Jennifer, and I asked together.
"Josh... asked...me ... OUT!! I can't believe it. FINALLY" Rahcel yells.
I look over at Josh who makes a confused face. Oh please.
"Uh, no he didn't." Jennifer cries. She likes being te first one who hears news.
"Um. YES HE DID!" Rachel says forcefully.
"NO, HE DIDN'T" Jennifer yells.
Josh and Alex are looking very confused. Alex decides to just roll with it, but Josh just looks like hes about to scream.
"Well, while your at it, you might as well say that Alex asked ME out!" Jennifer says sarcastically.
Alex whispers in my ear "Hey, I think that we won't have to worry much about taking these two down. They're doing it on their own."
Alex then picks me up, puts me in my wheel chair, and wheels me out of the lunch room. We can still hear horrible, yucky things being shouted at each other from the outside picnic tables.
When we get to the farthest picnic table away from the lunch room, Alex picks me up and positions me comfortably in the middle of the bench. He puts our lunch trays in front of us and puts some salt and pepper shackers he nicked as far away from him as possible. Then, not very successfully, he pretends to reach across me from behind for the salt, but instead puts his arm around me.
"You know you don't have to do that whole routine if you want to put your arm around me. Just ask." I say.
"Yes, I know. Just trying to be romantic. How's that leg of yours? Feeling okay?" He asks.
"It was fine until you mentioned it. They are weaning me off painkillers, but I can walk, run, even dance on it fine."
"I'm glad you said that. So, speaking of which, I was wondering. Ifyouwantedtogotothedancewithme. I kinda didn't want to ask because every time I tried, someone got injured." Alex says in a rush.
"What? Slow down!" I say.
"I was wondering, if maybe, since you and I are a thing, if you maybe wanted to be my date to the dance?" Alex asks unsteadily.
"Yes, I would love to go with you Alex." I say matter-of-factly.
"Yes!! I have wanted to go with you since that day the announcement came on."
That brings back memories for the both of us.
"But, I'm glad that I waited because now I can call you mine. If that's okay with you."
"Yes. Its fine." I say, as he leans in, our lunch long forgotten.
"I was also wondering," he says in between kisses. "If you wanted to go on a dinner date with me sometime."
"Okay." I say without hesitation, nothing to stop me. I just liked sitting there with Alex, soaking it all in.
