Chapter 11

2 AND A HALF MONTHS LATER\

Everyone has been helping me with this pregnancy. Shay has been with me every night helping me get things ready before the babies are born. Herman has forced me to take half shifts at Molly's and also helping me with the best pregnancy, and baby care. Kelly has gone with me to every appointment as a representative of the firehouse. Mouch has been going shopping for me. Everyone has been helping me we have bought enough dippers and formulas to last five babies a year. We have tried getting in contact with Casey, but he either doesn't care or hasn't gotten any of the letter I sent him. Every time I go to the OBGYN and get an ultrasound I have been sending the pictures to him. 

TWO MONTHS LATER

Shay came in after hearing me crying. "Gabby what's wrong" "what if Casey doesn't care about me before he let he said he loved me why hasn't he tried to contact me" I cried into her shoulder. "it's okay don't worry I will solve the problem" "how" "Kelly!" she yelled. Severide came running in for the last few months he is staying with me too just in case I go into labor, so this way we can get to the hospital. They are going back to their apartment after the babies are born. "Yeah?" he asked half asleep "I am going to Florida take care of Gabby". He nodded his head and Shay went to pack and go talk to Casey. 

NEXT DAY

SHAY POV

I landed in Florida, and went straight to a rental car dealership. I was going to find Casey, and see if he knows. I have two day's to find him. Kelly is at home taking care of Gabby. I went straight to his place that we got off of his resignation form. I arrived and there was no one home. I went to his work. This was a very nice fire house all new rigs. I went in and went straight to the bull pen. His assistant stopped me right away. "Excuse me who are you" she asked "Leslie Shay I have to talk to Chief Casey" "why" "personal topic that you have no need to know about" "then I can't allow you to talk to the chief" "Casey" I finally shouted. He came out, and looked at me with surprise. "Shay go home" he finally said "Casey" I said he looked at me than at his assistant "please show Miss Shay the door" "yes sir" she said. "Casey it is Gabby" "go home Shay" "Gabby is pregnant, and your the father Casey you need to know that Casey you are a father" "your lying" he said and went in his office, and closed the door. 

THREE WEEKS LATER

GABBY POV

Shay told me what happened in Florida, and once I can travel I am going to Florida just to slap Casey upside the head, and then go home. I was sitting on my couch eating ice cream when there was a puddle on the floor my water had broken. I was now in labor contractions were five minutes apart. I had called Shay, she and all of 51 are coming to get me. When they came they took me to the hospital. 

"Shay I am scared" "why" "what if I mess up, and they hate me, or they hate me because their father left". "Listen that was Casey's problem they will hate them" "your right" "okay you have to push now". I pushed the first  baby was born it was a boy, then the second was a boy, the last was a girl. All healthy all okay. I named my first son Andy Kelly Dawson, the second boy was Caleb Wallace Dawson, and the girl was named Alex Leslie Dawson. The kids were all born healthy, and all three are beautiful. I loved all three of them. "They are amazing Gabby" is what everyone told me. I know that they are going to be fighters.

ONE MONTH LATER

I was working squad today for the first time in months. Andy, Caleb, and Alex are going to come with me and Connie said she would look after them while I am on calls. Connie is chiefs assistant who has offered to help out because she to is a single mom. My first five minutes we got called out to a school where their were reports of smoke by teachers. It as a preschool which means lives of many young children may be at risk. We hopped out there were four levels. I was given the fourth floor. I found five kids, and got them all out hen chief told me to back out I had 16 little kids. 15 made it out without help, but the one that did was girl with smoke inhalation I carried her out. Just as I stepped out the building flashed I made sure to cover the girl so she wouldn't get hurt. I took her to the ambo and they rushed her to med. When we returned I went to my kids. 

AT HOME

I was taking care of the kids yes it was hard when at times all three would cry at once. But I loved them all those three mean the world to me. Even if the father won't be a father they have me. I was watching the news that's when Andy started crying I ran to his side the moment I heard him cry. All thee babies are all very calm for infants. 

I was watching the news when my phone went off. 

Conversation

Gabby: Hello?

???: Hello is this Gabby Dawson?

Gabby: yes who is this

Courtney: I am Chief Casey's assistant

Gabby: What is this about?

Courtney: Chief Casey would like to see you right away

Gabby: Well unless he comes to Chicago he wont 

Courtney: May I ask why

Gabby: because I am a single mother

Courtney: I will be in touch

End of Conversation

What is this he doesn't want anything to do with me for months now he has his assistant contact me. I won't see him mainly because he didn't even care enough to try to contact me himself.
