Candice POV

I can admit that I was mad, but getting that call from him and hearing how desperate he sounded had me worried.

Then on top of that, he said a guy took Tristan. Who would do something like that? Who was the guy? I began questioning if he was hiding something from me since the day that him and Aréona kissed. Maybe she knew something that he didn't and wanted to get his mind off of it. Maybe she was apart of the reason this happened to him.

"I'm coming baby. Hold on." I said to Aleah as she rolled over and tried crawling towards her teehing ring, but ended up going backwards instead. I chuckled and picked her up.

We barely had got in the house less than 20 minutes ago and I felt bad for leaving him alone with Tristan, but I couldn't have known something like this was gonna happen. I picked up my phone and charger before snatching my keys up into my hands then leaving out the door to my Nissan after I picked up her diaper bag. I strapped Aleah in and sped off into the direction of Cleo's house.

I don't know what made me think to do it, but I had to. Something strange was going on.
___

I knocked on the door and fixed my Aleah in my arms she was nodding off and I knew it was time for her to knock out in a few. "Go see who it is." I heard Cleo yell.

"What the hell do you think I'm doing?" Aréona shot back before I heard the door being unlocked as she mumbled something under her breath. The door swung open and the first thing I notice was the look of agitation on her face before she wiped it clean of and smiled when she recognized me.

"Hey. Can I come in?" I asked her. She nodded and moved out the way after giving me a hug. I walked in and looked around. The house was an unclean mess and I knew they had just gotten out of a fire fueled argument over something Cleo found ridiculous.

"Where's Tristan?" She asked after looking the door as I sat at the kitchen table. Aleah layed up against me with her  blanket. Cleo came into the kitchen and passed me up without a word to go get some water then stopped to look at Aréona.

"Im going to bed." Was all she said she leaned in to kiss Aréona on the cheek, but Aréona moved away from her.

"Good night." She stated. Cleo nodded and left out without a word to me. I looked back at Aréona and sighed. Nothing had changed even if Cleo promised it would, it didn't.

"Tristan is missing." I said out loud for the first time to myself. She looked up from her thoughts at me and frowned.

"How? I thought he was with you." She said to me in disbelief. I shook my head.

"Me and Chris rode in separate cars to his Mama's house. You know I had to work." I explained to her. She nodded.

"Where's Chris?" She asked curiously. I sighed heavily.

"On his way to the hospital." I said to her. My voice trembling.

"Oh no, what happened?" She asked me worriedly.

"I came here to ask you the same thing." I said eyeing her suspiciously. She looked at me confused.

"I'm not catching on..." She said frowning up at me in confusion.

"You told me about that night that you kissed him for a reason. Did he mention to you at all who the guy was that was at the door?" I asked her. She looked away from me and shook her head, but I knew her facial expressions enough to know she was lying. "Ari, please help me. If I can figure out who the guy is I can find Tristan." I told her. She shook head.

"We should go to the cops. This is not a job for us to handle." She said to me. She could not look at me for anything and I knew she wasn't telling me what I wanted to know.
