The LAST MEETING

The sisters walk into the growing darkness. They melt into the blackness, leaving me all by myself in the mass of the well. But not a second later, slivers of liquid light emerge from the air. Crystalizing into the incandescent mirror. I shield my eyes from its light. The light begins to take the form of a person.

Jest.

I stumble on to my feet and scramble towards the mirror. I put my hand on the glass. It was cold, cold enough to be frosted by a sheet of ice. I see his face sculpted and perfect.

"Jest!" I cry out loud trying to reach him. I bang my hands on the glass but it remains solid. He shakes his head slowly. The tears streaks down my cheek. No. No the sisters promised.

"Jest." I whisper onto the glass. "Don't leave."

Jest puts his hand on the glass as well. I hear his soothing voice, though muffled by the wall of crystal glass.

'I haven't left,'

"Will we meet again?" I say

He smiles, dimples lighting up his cheek. 'Even if fate condemns it.'

"I will wait as long as it takes"

"So will I beloved Cath, so will I." he whispers.
