***Peeta's POV***
(Before Katniss Left)
Glimmer spins the bottle and it lands on Katniss. "Truth or dare, my dear Kitty Kat?" Glimmer asks smirking. Hopefully Katniss will be smart enough to choose truth. Last time, Marvel chose dare and well, lets just he ended up in a bikini covered with chocolate and whip cream and got 300 likes on Instagram. "Truth, my dear friend" I hear Kat say. "Wise choice." Glimmer says and pauses. This can only mean something really bad is about to happen. Glimmer smirks and asks "Why didn't you and Peeta got together in first place?" I look at Katniss. Her pupils become pinpoints and I know her all too well to not notice it. I take her hand and start to soothingly rub circles in it with my thumb. I give Annie a pleading glance. I need her help right now. She immediately gets it. I have to try to calm Katniss without using words or it'll be way too obvious. I know that she doesn't want more people to know about our family feud. If Glimmer gets to know, all the school will. Don't get me wrong, I love Glimmer as my sister, but if there is something she is good at is gossiping. She is like the school's gossip magazine. Glimmer's weakness is that she can't keep a secret. "That question is kinda nosy don't you think?" Annie says. Hopefully this will stop Glim. "That's what this game about, my inexperienced grasshopper." Glimmer retorts.
I am still trying to calm Kat down, but I am actually getting frustrated myself. I know that Glimmer has no idea of what's going on. I know that the rest of the group, apart from Annie and Finnick, is oblivious to what is actually happening. It's just that they are putting Katniss in this situation. I have to say that I want to just tell everyone the truth. I want to tell them what's happening to Katniss and why. That will save us a lot of drama, at least for a while. I don't get why this has to happen to Katniss. I mean, how many teenagers have to keep their relationship in secret from their parents since their boyfriend and themselves are supposed to be enemies and deal with bullies, jerks, and anxiety at the same time?
This world is cruel and she is too good for it. She is selfless, intelligent, loyal, brave, strong, humble, and beautiful. What this world is doing to her is horrible. This world wants her to change. It wants us all to change. How? Well, with all the tests it gives us. This tests can go from something as small as telling that truth when you broke your mother's favorite vase to something as big as giving you the decision of saving or abandoning your worst enemy in a life or death situation. For her, the tests are very harsh. For society, each and every one of us are pieces of their games. Society thinks that judging us, bullying us, and labelling us will get us to change. The sad part is that the majority of times, it does. For example, we have my beautiful Katniss, who is labeled as popular and hot. To society, popular girl is synonym of plastic and brainless slut. That is what people like Gale see. He thinks she doesn't care about feelings. He thinks that with a muscular body and a couple of "compliments" will get him a one night stand with her. That's what society wants, to have the materialist slut on top of the world and the shy but beautiful girl as an outcast. When it comes to girls like Katniss and Annie, who are labeled as popular, society tries to force them into the status it wants for them. Since they are too kind and down-to-earth to be the sluts society needs, bullies like Cashmere enter to this "game" as a new factor. They attack them until they become outcasts or "nerds", if not society just keeps causing them problems and making them suffer things like Kat's anxiety or Annie's slight Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Annie got this when a group of guys broke into her house and her older brother was shot in front of her because he protected her when the guys wanted to rape her. This made her brother get into a coma. He's been in coma for 3 months. Katniss doesn't have it easy either. She has convinced herself that her anxiety came while trapped in the elevator with me, but the truth is she got it when Cashmere's bullying and Gale's harassment began. Life keeps throwing rocks at them, seeing if they are strong enough. Sadly for society and life, they are. They are stronger than bullies, jerks, labels, society, and this games, and I admire them for that. The status quo dictates who we shall be, but people like them defy the system. Thanks to their strength, they are thrown to this, and it frustrates me.
