I woke up to someone violently shaking me.
"Princess, wake up. Please. I'm right here." Jax cooed.
Why is he sounding so worried? I'm fine.
My eyes jolted open as my heartbeat was frantic.
Sweat was collected near the top of my forehead, and my body was slightly shaking.
Before I could process anything, Jax pulled me into his arms.
I felt his breath trail down the back of my neck, making goosebumps stand.
I leaned my tired head against his shoulder.
"What happened?" I asked groggily.
"You had a nightmare." Jax answered.
"Oh." I said quietly.
"I'm sorry." I whispered to the boys in the car.
I heard many replies of 'its okay' or 'don't be.'
"Uhm, on a different note...Jax, when we get back to the house..we have to speak with you." Ace said as he shuffled in his seat nervously.
I could feel Jax slightly lift his head as he gave Ace his attention.
"I'll be busy." He said gruffily.
"Uhm, Jax. But it's important." River added.
"Jesus then say it now!" Jax hollered at the boys.
I flinched at his loud tone of voice. He noticed, and rubbed the small of my back as he whispered in my ear.
"I'm sorry Princess." He softly kissed under my ear and looked back to the boys.
I lifted my head to look at what Jax was.
When I lifted my eyes, I saw the taxi driver boxed in..like in an office cubbical. I scrunched my eyebrows and looked at Ace.
"He can't overhear this...because you are probably going to yell." Ace said as he looked over at Jax.
My anxiety shot through the roof as I thought of Jax's loud voice.
"Well? What are you waiting on?" Jax pushed.
"Uhm well, Logan and I...kind of...didn't...finish our mission." Ace said skiddishly.
Jax froze, and his body tensed.
"What do you mean, 'you didn't finish your mission?' " Jax asked through gritted teeth.
My body tensed as I felt Jax's anger radiating off of his body.
"We didn't catch Drew and Mike!" Ace yelled out, trying to rip the band-aid off.
"Well. You did it now." Seth commented as he kept his hands in his lap.
"You what?" Jax asked so softly, it was barely heard.
Jax's grip slowly started to tighten around my bruised body and I squirmed in my place.
Jax immediately let go of my body when he noticed his grip has tightened.
He clenched his jaw and made it his mission to keep his hands off of me.
I went to lean into Jax, to attempt to calm him down.
When suddenly, Jax ordered the taxi to stop.
Right when the car quit moving, Jax flung the taxi door open and gently lifted me with his hands as he stepped out.
It's like his entire body was tense, and his hands were so gentle.
Jax's jaw ticked as he made his way around the taxi.
