"Afternoon May, calling through Jake's phone to let you know mine broke this morning. I think for the time being we better schedule from appointment to appointment until it's fixed."
The sinking hope in her stomach is starting to feel a bit pathetic. Was it so delusional to hope HE'd called her? To be fair, her number is only with Jake in the first place to deal with Stephan-related issues that might arise. Precisely like this one...
