Theresa wonders the prudence of maintaining a 'regular' relationship with Stephan.
It's not that it hasn't brought certain benefits, and stability. Rather, even though he still gives off the jerk vibes, Stephan is coming off as attached. That is a worrisome enough consideration.
Like many people before her, Theresa synchs her thoughts with sips from her Starbucks coffee.

"Mum, really, I know you guys just got a new kid, there's no need to displace yourself for me now."
"Nonsense, I'll come by bus and give Rob a chance to get acquainted with the new boy."
"It's a boy?"
"Yes, hailed from Louisiana..."
They slipped into a conversation that would last longer than Theresa wished her mother to have to pay.
Two weeks is the date decided for arrival.
