Rare are the days Theresa has classes closer to home. NYU lacks a particular lab that can be found at Columbia's Morningside Campus – although they happen to be early classes.
Remarkably, by 9:00 am she is out of class and crossing the green when somebody calls her name.
"At least this time I didn't have to bump into you to get noticed." Theresa is keen on observing how particularly beautiful his smile is in the early morning sun, aimed at her.
"Remarkable really," she teases.
"I thought you mentioned you studied at NYU."
"I do, just here for some particular lab work. I was on my way out actually."
"I see, I have a lovely lecture this morning. Your the lucky one with a free day."
"Yes, because medical students are lucky creatures."
His smirks are rare, at least aimed at her. "Point taken. You see, us humble law students are also very lucky."
"No doubt."
"So you're only here for that class?"
"Yeah, once a month really. They're early but at least I have nothing the rest of the day."
"If only, I have class in – shit."
His facial expression was so comical she could not help but erupt into laughter.
"I was ten minutes ago, I really need to go. Bye Theresa!"
"Bye!" her half-wave is left in the air as he runs up the stairs.
Theresa wonders when she'll see him again, Stephan will only be back in a week-and-a-half. Oh well.
