Saturday morning has Jake's caller ID flash her black-cased phone. It disrupts her early, 11:45 AM, slumber.
"Just calling to confirm Monday."
Stephan's voice was exactly what she was looking forward to hearing through her phone's speaker.
"Also, in case you were still wondering, I've decided to continue keeping this from my friends. I realised there is no point to disrupt this excitement right? They might even want a piece of you if I do tell them..."
His voice is drowned out by her thankful thoughts. How could she think that Stephan would ever mistake this for serious? He's still a teenager in a 27-year-old's body for God's sake.
To her, it goes deeper than that, the aversion to any consideration that the part she plays in May is real, terrifies her. She never entered that industry with the prospect of dating any of her clients, nor their acquaintances.
But life's funny that way, isn't it?
