Finally Free

Edith POV
Six months later

It's been six months since we left New York and our old lives behind. We were finally free to be happy with one another without having to worry. London has now became my home away from home. The club we opened a month after we got here has really took off. We had to start doing reservations and we are completely booked for the next six months. No one suspected that we were runaways with a nightmare past hidden away.

It was the late morning and I was stepping out of the shower when I heard a knock at the door. I quickly threw on a t-shirt and sweatpants thinking it must have been Zander coming back from town.

He must've forgotten his key again.

When I opened the door the welcoming smile I had on my face quickly vanished as the blood drained from my face. My worst nightmare had came true. Standing in my doorway was a very cold looking Larc.

"Hello Edith or should I say Nora. That is what you're calling yourself now days isn't it?" I could see the evilness and anger burning in his eyes.

"Ho.....How did you find me?" I began to slowly back inside as he followed.

"Aren't you glad to see me? It's been a long time since you've seen me, your husband." He said with a mock expression of hurt on his face. "Did you not think I'd come for you? You are my wife after all."

I kept moving back until I had no where else to go. He pinned me up against the wall so I couldn't move.

"You left me to think you were dead. You thought you had it all planned out, that it would actually work. But you forgot one important thing Edith." He leaned in so that his lips would brush against mine and he whispered,  "You can't hid from me."

He pushed his lips hard against mine and I began to try to wiggle free from his grasp. I couldn't break free so in a panic I bit his lip.

Startled he stepped back then raised his hand into the air to strike me against the face. As I fell to the floor he leaned down and picked my head up by my hair.

"It's time to come home now Edith. This game is over." He growled as he yanked me up by the hair.

I quickly brought my elbow up and hit him hard in the groin.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" I yelled as he fell to the floor.

I low chuckle began to escape from his lips as he stood back up. His face twisted in anger. I squeezed my eyes shut getting ready for impact when he suddenly cleared his throat and calmly said, "We'll deal with this when we get home."

He then lunged forward grabbing me by the arms and pushed me towards the bedroom.

"Now pack a bag we are leaving. Just as soon as I handle Zander."

I froze in place as panic rose in me. I spun around to look Larc in the face to see him smirking in enjoyment.

"Oh did you think I was going to leave him here alive? He's a problem Edith and I don't want him standing in the way of what's mine. So say good bye to your happily ever after my dear."

"Please don't hurt him. I'll go with you just don't hurt him." I begged as fear and tears broke my voice.

"It doesn't matter what you say or do. His fate is sealed." He laughed.

Tears swelled into my eyes as I got a suitcase down and started packing. I was moving as slow as I could without being obvious to what I was doing. Zander would be home any minute now. I wanted him to rush through the door to save me but I also fear that he won't be able to. I was foolish to think I could run away from Larc.
