Mehhhhh you can all thank kittenDreams-V for me actually uploading a chapter lolll. I'm lazy af. So thanks future babe for maintaining how much I write lol. I've been looking to write this oneshot for awhile cuz I intend on it being so freaking cute but yee... enjoy.
Pov Karkat
I walk throughout the school hallways with one of my close friends Kanaya next to me.
"Aren't you excited Karkat? Prom is approaching this Friday!! Rose asked me just yesterday and it was just so romantic. Did you have anyone you wanted to go with?"
My face blushes a light red before looking to the wall.
"U-uh.... I..."
"How about that Dave kid I've heard you talk about..?"
I look over at Kanaya before shaking my head.
"He doesn't even know I exist... We've never even made eye contact before."
"Who knows.... maybe you guys are soulmates...! I mean I just met Rose this year the options for you are u limited. You'll know when it's the one. Your whole world just lights up with color. The second Rose and I saw eachother everything just changed."
I smile before gripping onto the straps of my backpack a bit.
"You guys are so perfect for each other. I don't know. I'll probably just go with you guys and the other trolls."
Kanaya lets out a sigh before slumping down a bit.
"Whatever you say Karkat. But you're going shopping with me after school today. I still need to get my dress and you need something to wear too."
"Oh I was just going to use an old tux."
She looks over at me with a glare in her eyes.
"Absolutely not Karkat Vantas. It is our senior prom. You are going to wear something handsome and romantic and maybe catch your crushes eye a bit."
I let out a muffled complaint in defeat before we approach our classroom and we walk into class.
I searched the classroom and look across the other side of the room where I sit to see Dave in his usual chair.
I smile as I see him scrolling through his phone leaning back in his chair.
If only he knew...
The bell lets out a loud ring letting us know class has started and I prepare myself for 45 minutes of boredom.
~Time skip~
I reach for a few books from the top of my locker before shoving them into my backpack.
I feel myself tense up when I see Dave walk up next to me to open his locker.
I slowly push myself more forward not making any contact trying to make it look as if I was doing something important.
I organize my books taking a few glances over at him as he puts books back into his locker.
After a few minutes or so I hear him gently shut his locker door before walking away to the school exits.
I let out a small sigh of relief before putting the lock back on my locker and slamming it shut.
I pull my backpack up to my shoulders before walking out of the school looking for Kanaya.
She waves me over from her small car and I walk quickly.
After getting into the passengers side and sitting back she gives me a questionable look.
"Is everything alright Karkat dear?"
I fight with the air vents moving then more towards me causing cold air to blow throughout my hair and brush across my face.
"Oh yea... It's just. You already know how Dave's locker is right next to mine and it seems every time I see him or he walks over near me I get so nervous and can't even make small eye contact. I just freeze."
Kanaya looks at me in complete awe.
"That is the cutest thing. We're really going to have to look hard to make you stand out at Prom. Not like you won't already be looking adorable because you always do but we're going all out to get this boy to notice you."
I give her a soft smile before she starts her car and makes her way to the mall.

Once Kanaya parks her car the two of us step out and walk towards the entrance.
When we enter the large looking mall I hear my text ringer go off and as we walk towards the store I check to see who it is.
'Hello Karkat. I was just wondering when you would be home. I notice you didn't come home right away after school so I just wanted to make sure you were ok. Let me know who you're with as soon as you can and have fun. -Kankri'
I swipe my phone open giving my brother a quick reply
"Hey Kankri im with Kanaya right now. She wanted to take me shopping for prom clothes. I imagine I'll be home in about two hours or so.'
I shove my phone back into my pocket as we enter the store and I look around at all the dresses and tux's.
A large smile creeps onto kanaya's face as she looks around.
"I say we start with your tux first since mine will probably take longer."
I give a nod as her phone goes off and she looks down at it her smile growing bigger.
"Even more perfect. Since Rose is Dave's sister she was able to send me a picture of his suit for prom and inform me he hasn't asked nor is going wrh anyone so far. He's been talking about a guy he wants to with but imagined he'll just go alone. Now I know he'll be single and I can get you to match him."
A blush creeps across my face looking around at all the suits
"Seeing you look this dashing will be the last thing he'll expect."
I look down to the floor and Kanaya grabs my arm and pulls me towards the many suits.
Kanaya stands there before looking around for a few minutes and I suddenly hear her let out a gasp.
I look towards her direction and see her holding a black tux with a red collared shirt and a black tie for the inside.
She hands me the tux and I'm pushed into the changing room.
"Once you have it on come out here and let me see it please!"
I let out a sigh before setting my phone and house keys down on the seat next to me before looking into the mirror.
I slowly strip myself from the clothes on my body.
I take the shirt off the hanger before gently pushing my arms into the sleeves buttoning up the shirt.
I then put on the smooth black pants along with rest of the tux.
Once done I look into the mirror once again before my eyes widen....
"Woah....."
I ruffle my hands through my hair before giving off a small sweet smile.
"Ok. I actually look pretty nice."
I step out of the changing room and Kanaya looks up at me with a gasp.
"You look so amazinggggg!!! Karkat dear! Oh my gosh. I feel like I may just cry.... oh my goodness you're so grown up..."
I let out a small laugh in which I snort too. Causing Kanaya to laugh along.
"Your cuteness is too darn much for this world. I swear it blows me away Dave hasn't noticed you yet. And I'm sure when he does he'll absolutely die from you adorableness"
"So I'm assuming we're going with this tux then?"
She nods her head before I step back into the changing room putting back on the clothes I was once wearing.
I stepped out and we walked over to the cashier and I payed for the suit.
We then left and went to go find Kanaya's dress. It took about an hour or so but we found the perfect one. Rose would be head over heels for this.
After walking around for a bit longer we decided it was best to hear back home and she dropped me off at Kankri's House.
I walked up to the door waving Kanaya goodbye and rang the doorbell.
My brother Kankri was quick to answer and opened the door widely.
"It's about time you came home Karkat. I was beginning to grow worried. You should have updated me. It could be very triggering doing that to other and you know how stuff like that makes me feel."
"Kanny. Babe. Calm dovwn he told you vwhere he vwas gonna be. Just let the guy come in and breathe"
I watch as Cronus, my brothers matesprit walks up behind Kankri and wrap his arms around his shoulders.
"Thanks Cronus. Ya saved me there."
(NoTe I'm like 54% positive I got his voice thingy whatever it's called correct. If not forgive me....)
I enter the house kicking my shoes off and the two walk over to me.
"So Karkat... Did you get your suit?"
I look over at my brother giving him a small nod and his face brightens up.
"When do I get to see it?"
"Tomorrow.... Before I go to Prom...."
My brothers face quickly turns into disappointment and I shrug my shoulders.
Before I heard another word from the two I ran upstairs to my bedroom. I shut the door quickly behind me before gently putting the tux into my closet and then jump down onto my bed.
I pull my pillow over my head before letting out a long sigh.
I really do hope whatever Kanaya has planned works. All I've ever wanted was for him to notice me... But then again... Who would take interest in me. I'm trash.
I continue to let my thoughts consume my head before I slowly fall into a deep sleep not knowing what tomorrow may or may not bring.

I wake up to the sound of my alarm blaring and I let out a loud grunt.
"Already? The fuck. It feels like I just fell asleep."
I get up and obnoxiously shut off my alarm before slipping into the bathroom.
I grab one of the towels before throwing it to the ground.
I remembered strictly Kanaya telling me to shower today especially because of Prom. She really is like the mother I've always wanted. And I know when she told me she plans on making this night perfect for me, she meant it.
After I brushed my teeth I did my usual morning routine and jumped in the shower, dried off, brushed my hair, cusses my hair out for being a ball of fluff like always, went to my room, and got dressed.
I threw on one of my black turtlenecks and some skinny grey jeans along with my black converse.
I grab my backpack, shutting my light off once I exit my room (cUz We SaVe EnErGy In ThIs BoOk)
I run downstairs skipping breakfast and avoiding my brother not wanting to be late to school.
I step out the door closing it behind me before starting my journey of the day. Let's hope all goes well.

A/N WeLp. I'm a horrible person. Lol sorry guys. I know I haven't gotten to the point of the story but I swear imma make a part two and you'll be head over heels for this oneshot. The next one I'm hoping to upload is a surprise oneee for my future babeee but shhhhh he doesn't need to know thattt... I wanted to write this as just one big oneshot but I got lazy and there's other stuff I wanna work on. Sorry for not being as active I'm really trying. But once this summer comes up I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post because I'll be gone most summer. Hopefully my parents will let me bring my phone just depends. If so I'll update as much as I can. Until then I'll try to spam you children chapters. Now quick question. Do any of you even enjoy my writing? Personally I think it's trashhh but meh. 1.35k readsss wussup with thisss lolll I don't deserve you guys. Internet Friends, my soon to be new book should be up soon hopefullyyy.
