title: clairvoyant
any descriptions of your work? a clairvoyant has the ability to see things behind just the surface level, so i picked mina who plays an easygoing yet sorta eccentric clairvoyant and has the special ability to see what hides beyond what a person is on the outside and the ability to manipulate things hence the little ball of light and the lightning flash. i wanted to portray sort of a whimsical feeling because of the main character's personality as well as futuristic because of the setting of the story. i mostly imagine powers to be something more common in a dystopia where technology is more advanced so hence the more sci-fi type of background!
how did you come up with this idea? i actually got inspiration while looking through random renders and it hit me all of a sudden that twice had a concept that seemed to fit this cover pretty well. i also got the idea to make this cover from one of my most favorite webtoon, dice, where one of the main characters has the power of clairvoyance. she can see properties of objects and people through a pop up screen so i added some circle overlays and textures that seem to fit the theme i was trying to achieve for.
hints on how you did this cover/graphics? i first rendered out that circle portal sorta thingy mina is sitting on because i realized that the picture of her had her sitting down and i needed to find a clever way to incorporate a chair onto the cover so i made do with what i had lol. then added a city background found in one of a downloaded stock pack, and from there on it's just a lot of messing around with brushes and overlay textures and different curves and saturation layers to achieve the final result.
