5:  Olukia

Typical of Willow Forest, there was a heat wave the following week.  They only had a few days to shoot the beginning of Melted, then a few more to film when everything was flooded.

The war game thing was just about finished (sort of).  Ash and Eve were readily planning there disco.

Olivia sat there in Nature, brushing her blonde hair.  Not something she did often, but there was only so long you could get away with without running a comb through it.

She put the comb down on the chest-of-drawers, next to her medallion.  It was made of silver, and hung on an equally valuable chain.  On it were seven pictures around the edge, symbolising the seven Elements.  A stone for Earth, a spiral for Air, a flame for Fire, a raindrop for Water, a tree for Life and Nature, a skull for Death and a cog for Technology.

She put the medallion on round her neck.  It had belonged to Hephzibah, and still contained her spirit.  So it whispered to her.  Usually when she was alone.  It spoke now.

It is nearly time, It rasped, To face your destiny.

She groaned.  "That's all you ever tell me now.  Ever.  I don't need reminding, thank you very much.  Next you'll be wanting me to change my home screen on my iPhone to 'Keep Calm Olivia Green, And Face Your Destiny.  Hey?  Maybe with a wolf icon instead of a crown.  That do you?"

Shh, child.

"Don't call me that!  And about this whole destiny thing..."

I mean be quiet!  Somebody is coming!

Olivia tucked the medallion under her top so it pressed against her skin and only the chain was visible.

The door opened.  It was Luke.  He looked gorgeous in shorts and a t-shirt.

"Hi Liv."

"Hi."

"Umm, as it's nice weather, I wondered if you wanted to play something down by the lake?  There's a really nice spot I know of."

Olivia's face lit up.  "Chess?"

"Oh.  Actually, I was thinking of badminton.  We've got a net set up and everything."

Olivia hoped she didn't show her disappointment.  "Oh.  Okay."

Luke noticed it.  "But, um, you're more than welcome to give me a chess lesson, afterwards, if you want..."
