Mason had History first thing.

It was strange.  Felix was going to teach a new subject, one which didn't involve combat.

Mason was discussing it over their breakfast table.  He was sitting with Lucas and Elijah, obviously, plus three girls who seemed to be okay.  One, L, was an Earth Elementist from somewhere in Asia.  M was possibly Russian.  She was a Water.  A new girl, an Air, had joined them in Tent Fourteen last week.  Her name, or her code name, was N.  She had short light brown hair and clear blue eyes.  She seemed to have a lot in common with L and M.  N read books at an incredibly fast pace like M, and moaned about the excessive amounts of physical activity they had to do alongside L.

L specialised in tunnels.  M ice and snow.  N didn't specialise in anything yet.  Her powers were still developing.

Apparently L, M and N (hey!  That was perfectly in alphabetical order!  You know, L, M, N...) had had their first History thing yesterday.

"Basically, you just learn about how evil Olivia is, and hear about Willow Forest..."  M began.

"...So when we invade, we know everything about the place, so it's easy to kill all of them."  L finished for them.

Mason frowned.  "Kill?  I thought we were only going to hold them back, so that Felix has enough time to kill Olivia.  It's not their fault Olivia has brainwashed them."

Lucas laughed.  "Yeah right.  Hold them back, read: kill, them." 

Mason couldn't even try to laugh alongside them.

Elijah sighed.  "Bro, I know it sucks.  I mean, there might be some really hot girls there or something, and I'd hate to kill them."

"Um, won't those big dog thingys be doing most of the killing for us?"  N glanced behind her shoulder to see a passing Death Wolf growling at her for being referred to as 'a big dog thing'.

"YES."  L said loudly and slowly, so that the Death Wolf would hear and understand her.  "BECAUSE THE DEATH WOLVES ARE SO HUGE AND DANGEROUS AND INCREDIBLE AT KILLING PEOPLE THEY'LL HAVE KILLED THEM ALL IN TWO SECONDS BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST THAT AMAZING AND SCARY AND THEY GIVE US ALL NIGHTMARES BECAUSE THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO SCARY."

The Death Wolf backed off with his tail in the air, satisfied.

Ash gulped.

It was her versus three dozen evil giant monster things in a world programmed by some weird psychopath who wanted to kill her because of where she lived.
