Ash and Eve had helped the whole situation, but not much.

Bethany tensed as she heard an ominous crack.  She dashed out the way just in time as the banister fell down.

There was a blood curdling scream as it collapsed on top of Tabitha, knocking her to the ground and pinning her legs down.

"Tabs!"  She shouted and ran towards her friend.  "Are you okay?"

She smiled.  "Duh.  A banister just smushed my legs and I'm lying in a pool of blood.  Of course I'm fine!  Never been better, actually."

The others- Ash, Eve, Jack, Karl, Max, Juan, Danny, Iona, Daisy and Sianna all crowded around her.  David probably would have come, but a clump of wires were currently squeezing him like a boa constructor would, so he was a bit preoccupied being strangled.

"Someone get Pippa!"  Ash shrieked.  Daisy ran off.

"Don't worry about me."  Tabitha said.  "You guys keep going.  There's nothing anyone can do until Pippa gets here, so you're just wasting time standing there."

Bethany nodded grimly.

"Bit of (gasp) help here?"  David gasped.  The wires grew tighter around his waist.

Unfortunately, not even the twins could help.  They tugged and tugged and tugged, but the wires became even tighter.

Only Ethan could control components.

Ethan oh Ethan, where art thou Ethan?

Sasha panted as she flung herself through the doors of the House of Fire.

Alex was waiting for her.  The only light was that off the fire in the centre.

"Alex, I thought you said-"

"It went."  He interrupted.  "It came for moment then went."

So, the power had been back on in the House of Fire briefly, as well as the House of Air.  As Fire and Air were as far apart as possible, it was probably safe to say that every building had had electricity for a split second.

So, whatever Ethen was doing was working!
