Chapter 13: Home

*Claire's POV*

I walked into the house with a huge smile on my face. The first person I saw was Lauren.

"Hey Laur-"

"How was school!?" she said, seeming kind of worried.

"It went great actually. Eventful. I already have 5 best friends." I smiled.

"Oh my god! I'm so happy your not all sad like last time!" she said, hugging me.

"I like it here way better. Everyone is so nice. Well, almost everybody."

"What do you mean 'almost everybody'?"

"I'll tell you later. How was your day?"

"Claireeeeee!!!!!!" I heard Jessa yell from upstairs.

"What?!" I yelled back.

"I'm hungry!"

"Well, get down here and get a snack! It's that simple!"

"Me too?!" I heard Sam yell.

"Yes" I told her. " Ok anyways, School?"

"Okay, I have to tell you EVERYTHING!" she told me seeming really excited.

"What?!"

"Come! I'll tell you in our room." she said jogging up the stairs. I followed her to our room. I was so happy when I found out that I was sharing a room with Lauren. It was going to be so much fun.

"Okay." I said out of breath. I told you I wasn't in shape! "What. do. you. need. to. tell. me." I said in between breaths.

"I met this super cute boy and he's super nice. He lives 2 houses down and his name is Caleb. We walked home together and I got his number!" she said excitedly.

My heart almost hit the floor. My little Lauren was growing up. I was really happy for her, but I have to admit, I'm gonna miss my little Lauren. I was thinking about this when I realized something. 2 houses down! That's where Chloe lives. "Wait 2 houses to the left?!"

"Yeah. He has an older sister I think... Chloe, I believe was her name."

"That's my friend?!"

"Really?"

"Ya!! Here lemme show you her."

"Mkay."

I took out my phone to show my sister the pictures we took.

"They look so alike." Lauren said.

"Really?"

"Ya. He has dark hair like hers and she's beautiful and he's beautiful also."

I looked over at her with a confused face.

"What? It's true."

"Okay then." I said looking away. I slid through a few more pictures randomly until I came to Ashton's pic.

"Who's that?" she asked me.

"That's Ash." I said biting my lip.

"Ooooo! Claire!! Tell me about him!!" she said shaking me.

"Ok! ok! He lives in our neighborhood and he's in most of my classes. He's really nice and Chloe thinks he likes me." I slid to the picture of all of us. "All four of them are best friends." I said pointing at Cal, Luke, Michael, and Ash. "and those three told me that he can't stop talking about me." I said pointing at Cal, Luke, and Michael.

"Damn! That guy is super hot. Not as hot as Caleb though." she smirked.

"Stop, Lauren! Those are my friends. And his name is Luke." I said rolling my eyes.

She just giggled. "What were you saying when you said that not everybody was nice, by the way?" she asked suddenly.

I told her the whole story about Brooklyn and lunch and after that, she told me about this popular guy who likes Caleb also and threatened to kill her. She told me it didn't bother her, but I still reassured her that she can talk to me about anything.

We talked about boys, school, lunch, teachers, etc. until we heard a squeal. Mom was home and Olivia was the one squealing.

"My little Olive is home!" I yelled running to Olivia and hugging and kissing the heck out of her. "I missed you so much!" I always called Olivia 'my little Olive' for years now, but it never caught on to the rest of my family, so it was just my and Olivia's little joke.

"I'm gonna go say hi to mom!" I heard Lauren yell, while running downstairs.

"Ok!" I yelled. " How in the world did you get up here, Olivia?" I asked her.

She didn't answer me. She was to caught up in eating her little fruit straw thing. I ate them once and they were delicious, so I couldn't blame her.

"Claire!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

"Yeah?!"

"Can you please take Olivia to the park near the beach? You can tell me about your day during dinner. Olivia has been yelling park all day and I just need-"

"Mom! I got it, ok? Wait, how am I supposed to drive?" I laughed.

"Can you just walk? It's just 2 blocks away." she smiled.

"Fine." I said walking over to the staircase.

"I wanna come too!" I heard Sam yell.

"Me too!" Jessa yelled.

"Ok! Get down here, then!"

"I'm coming also!" Lauren said from a mouthful of potato chips.

Soon I heard footsteps running down the stairs and everybody putting on their shoes.

Pretty soon we were ready to go.
