*Katiana's POV*

"Mum! I'm going out." I yelled as I made my way out the front door.

"Where you going." she smirked.

"I have a date." I stated, proudly.

"Really?" she raised her eyebrows.

"Yup." I smiled.

"You have got to be kidding me!"

"What? No I'm not kidding." my smile faded.

"Oh honey! It's not that I didn't think you'll never get asked out it's just that ever since...that happened." she slowed.

"Mum. I'm over it, ok?"

"Well, I guess all I'm trying to say is that I'm glad you're finally getting out there again." she smiled. "Tell me, who's taking you out?"

"This boy."

"Named...?"

"Michael." I smiled at the thought of him.

"Michael, huh?"

"Yes." I said impatiently.

"How'd you two meet?"

"Halloween." I shrugged.

"Hmm... well I hope you have a nice time." my mom waved me off.

"Thanks." I mumbled, finally stepping outside.

It was Friday night and Michael asked me out yesterday when we were sitting in the schools basement, skipping our 4th period class.

We established that we were going to meet at the corner of my neighborhood. Mike isn't that type of guy to meet your parents on your first date. Plus, my mum's pretty embarrassing and will bombard him with questions and curfew times. But it's Friday. I don't have to be home until midnight.

"Hey Kat." Michael laughed once I reached the corner.

"Hey Mike." I played along. "So... where we going?"

He refused to tell me earlier.

"I told you! I want to surprise you." he giggled.

"I don't like surprises." I stated.

"Too bad." Michael shrugged, grabbing my hand.

"Not again." I rolled my eyes.

"What was wrong with last time?"

"Nothing." I admitted.

"It was fun, wasn't it?"

"Kinda." I sighed in defeat.

"Then this will be the same except we aren't being rebels."

"Just because we skipped class, doesn't mean we're rebels." I laughed.

"Please. You think not using the crosswalk is being a rebel." Michael rolled his eyes.

"We can't just walk out when we want!" I stammered.

"Why not?"

"Because! It's not right."

"Don't be such a goody goody." he teased.

"No one says that anymore."

"Sure they do."

"But! Michael." I groaned.

"Katiana." he groaned also.
