The One whose Heart Will Go On

Dear Rose,

You came to me like the waves of the ocean, leaving me with cold feet and empty hands.

You kept slipping away from me except that I was the one drowning all alongside, while you stayed on the surface.

I'm sorry I couldn't save us both, but I chose you over myself and I always will.

You were the warm comfort of sunshine on the surface and I was on my way towards the cold.

It was shivering my internals to death but my heavy heart couldn't hold onto you, my anchor to have saved me.

Just like my silhouette dissolved into the unknown from your sight, I was fading away from myself too.

And I am sorry, I stopped moving my hands and legs in the failed attempts of swimming up to you.

My faith had disappeared and my hopes had sunk. I had put all of mine into you.

I surrendered to the lifetime of love I had received in the few moments and I had no intentions of finding something greater than this in life.

I had to go, I had to go with a heart full of content.

And now as I hit the rock bottom, I don't feel a thing for there isn't enough of me left anymore to feel.
All the screams of "I love you" and "Hold me" had come out as mere whispers trapped in air bubbles that never reached you.

I hope someday when I cross your mind and you are out here looking for our ruins, they do reach you.

I hope we find our way back to each other and love in our next life or in some parallel universe and we have the fortune of keeping it.

Love,
Jack
