I entered the apartment quietly while everyone was buzzed with booze and their "hilarious" stories in the living room.
I slipped off my shoes and quietly snuck to my room. Without shutting the door all the way and without turning on my lights I climbed into bed and pulled the blankets over me.
After throwing up I immediately felt the urge to do it again. To feel less of myself. I wanted to be fit. I wanted to be skinny.
But I was built like a rugby player or a football player. Large. Even thinking that disgusted me.
The door wipped open and hit the wall loudly probably causing a dent in my wall. I flinched but stayed completely still and silent.
The person slammed the door shut and pulled on the small lamp across the room.
That corner of my room was lit up and from what I could see while hiding behind a clump of the covers was Luke and Andrea.
"Was he alright when you went down to him?" Andrea asked.
"No. But I calmed him down." Luke held defence in his voice and I could also tell they were both a little bit drunk.
"That's good. Poor guy." I rolled my eyes at Andreas lame words for me. They are better than fat though.
"He was puking though, I think he might have gotten sick." Luke added. I winced and hoped Andrea didn't hear him.
"Never mind that's not important. What is important is the fact that you stole what was rightfully mine!" Luke's drunk voice held anger. What was his?
"Alec is a human being. He can like whoever he wants to. And anyways idiot he has no interest in you." I frowned at Andreas words.
"I don't like Alec." Luke snapped back. I felt the pain in my heart grow
"Stop lying to yourself." Andrea barked.
"I am not gay. I do not like men. And I certainly don't like Alec. He is my friend."
Luke was silent.
"Alec wasn't sick either." Andrea started and panic fled through me. No!
"He has an eating disorder." No! What the hell was she doing! I clenched my fists together.
"What do you mean? Alec is fine. He just freaks out sometimes."
"No he's not who you obviously think he is."
"I've lived with him for awhile now, he's not well." Andrea said making me feel hurt. There was a long pause of awkward silence.
"He has an eating disorder?" Luke was quiet.
"Yeah, it was getting a lot better recently but he's had it the whole time we've known him and probably longer too."
"That's.." Luke started quietly making me feel so ashamed.
"I don't know I don't believe you. He seems completely normal. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with him. You just like to find the drama in everything." Luke muttered Andrea glared at him.
"Are you kidding me?! I told you about Alec and you don't believe me?"
"No, not really. Alec would tell me if he was." Luke said while opening the door.
"And anyways, he's not skinny and that's kinda a part of all that "he throws up all the time" bs." I felt the knife slice through myself when hearing his judgement. Even he thinks I'm fat? Even Luke. I felt a wave of depressed feelings suffocate me. I flopped over onto my side and they both froze.
"Andrea.. He's in here." Luke whispered. I pretended I was sleeping while they freaked out.
"You don't think he heard all this right?" Andrea whispered.
"I hope to god not."
I heard footsteps coming around my bed.
"he's asleep."
.
I woke up feeling hungover and regretful. I betrayed Alec. Alec wasn't awake yet. Also Lucky. He was here, living. Well he wasn't actually here in this apartment. He said he was staying at a hotel near by because he didn't want to intrude.
Even though this was his apartment originally?
I stood up and wandered out to my kitchen. I didn't think to even care what I looked like as the only one I thought would be here would be Alec. But when I heard a snort and a chuckle from the living room I immediately reconsidered.
My cheeks went hot as I covered my chest with my hands, cupping my boobs. Sure I wasn't naked. But pretty damn close. I was wearing a tiny thin tank top without a bra and basically underwear shorts that rode up my ass like floss.
"Nice outfit." Luke grinned. He obviously was pretending like last night didn't happen. Although Lucky just stared at me with his big blue eyes and blushed.
I felt completely uncomfortable and flustered as I ran back to my room.
"You might wanna put a little bit more clothing on! It's a bit chilly out here." Luke laughed. I pulled on my sweater and leggings feeling incredibly embarrassed. I opened to the bathroom to really get ready for the day and saw Alec sitting there on the ground.
He glanced up at me and pulled his knees up to his chest, crossed his arms and glared at me.
"What?"
"Why are they still here?" He snapped sounding very moody unlike his usual morning attitude. It was beginning to worry me that maybe he had heard everything I said.
"I-i actually don't know. I can tell them to leave if you want."
"You should probably get on that." Alec held a dark glare at me. His facial features cold.
"Are you sure?"
"Am I sure? Yes I'm sure did you not hear me?" Alec stood up.
"Okay fine."
"Guys um you gotta leave." I said to Luke and Lucky who sat on my couch.
They both frowned.
"Why?" Luke asked first.
"Alec wants you to leave." I mumbled.
Luke's eyes instantly held the same question I had asked myself just minutes ago.
He quickly got up off the couch and wiped open the door to Alecs bedroom. Where Alec was sitting on the side of his bed on his phone.
"What the hell?" Alec glared when he glanced up.
"Alec why are you kicking me out?" Luke asked.
"Because I don't want you here." Alec shrugged.
Luke tackled Alec back onto his bed and pinned him down with his arm against his chest and his body hovering over him on his knees.
I glanced at Lucky who held all kinds of confusion. He glanced back at me with wide eyes.
I grinned and sat down beside him.
Alec was silent utterly stunned that Luke was so forceful.
"Why are you mad at me?" Luke asked.
Alec held his breath his heart beating a mile a minute.
"I heard you. I heard everything."
"So why are you mad?"
Alec stared at Luke who stared back at him.
"I don't like you Alec. I don't like you like that." Luke said. Lucky coughed and stared at me in disbelief.
"What is happening in there?"
"What the hell man? I'm not gay!" Alec said.
"Yes you are!" Luke yelled. I could quite understand what made Luke so upset at that point or what his tactics were.
"I am not." Alec shoved Luke back.
"Yes you fricken are! Your in love with me!" Luke yelled.
"I'm not." Alec whispered.
"Is that not your boyfriend?" Lucky asked me.
"No, he's not. I'm sorry that I can't really explain."
"So who's your boyfriend then?" Lucky asked his blue eyes watching me.
"Nobody."
We were still focused on the fight going on in front of us but from the corner of my eye I could see Luckys grin.
"He just bit me!" Alec shrieked. Lucky stood up and walked over to Alec's bedroom.
Alec was struggling to push Luke off him when Lucky inter-veined and pushed Luke onto the floor.
"He bit you?" I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yes look!" Alec tilted his neck up a bit and there was a faint bite mark just under his jaw.
"Luke what the hell man." Lucky laughed.
Alec on the other hand didn't seem to like what was happening.
"Andrea please." He was out of breath already and I occurred to me that what had just happened actually rattled him a bit too much.
"How about we leave Alec alone for awhile."
Alec pushed me out of the way and locked himself in the washroom.
"What the hell." Luke said.
"Luke Cmon." I glared at him.
After they finally left Alec was in there for awhile. I knew he was having a panic attack from the panic of everything and how crazy Luke was. He was in there for well over an hour and Luke had came back. He was standing tucked away by the door when the bathroom door knob opened.
When Alec came out his eyes were red as well as his cheeks and he looked so tired.
"You told him." He said as he stared at me in the middle of our apartment. He didn't realize that Luke was there.
His eyes were filled with tears.
"Why would you tell him?" His voice cracked as a tear rolled down his cheek.
"Why?" He cried.
"I don't know why I did. I am so sorry Alec. I swear I don't know why I did. I thought he would understand you better. I don't know it was so stupid I'm so sorry."
"Whatever, he didn't even bother to realize you were right." Alec wiped his eyes and walked back to his bedroom and shut the door.
Luke stared at me with disbelief.
"I don't think I should be here."
"Can you just go in there." I pointed to Alex's room.
"I know you are head over heels for him but he doesn't see it. He needs you he really does please just go in there."
