I took a deep breath and knocked on Alec's door. I heard his sniffle and walk towards the door. There was a moment of hesitation before he opened it. We made eye contact for a short second before he slammed it shut. I sighed feeling awkward and nervous.
"Alec." I opened the door with a surprise that he didn't lock it.
"I never invited you in." He glared at me through sad red eyes.
I sat on his bed beside him, and took a deep breath.
"So it's true." I mumbled quietly.
Alec stared at his hands on his lap.
"You have an eating disorder?" I asked him.
"I-no-well yes-but I-I yes. Yes I have an eating disorder." Alec stumbled over his words before sighing and admitting his embarrassment.
"Oh." I said trying to rack my brain for anything to say.
"Oh? That's it? Leave Luke." Alec snapped. I didn't know what to say, it didn't want to insult him, I didn't want to make him feel weak, I didn't want to embarrass him, out of being so desperate and confused I wrapped my arms around him tightly. Alec flinched at first. His body comforting against mine. His warmth soothed me. I closed my eyes and fell into the hug. I could smell his body spray. He smelled so good, he felt so good in my arms. He stood stiffly as I hugged him tightly.
Alec pulled away making my cheeks turn red.
"I'm fine really."
"Okay."
I felt so stupid. So so so stupid. Why did I hug him. Why did I hug him for so long. He didn't even hug me back.
I stiffened and glanced around Alec's room.
"So um, how's your girlfriend?" Idiot. I wanted to slap myself. Alec stared at my with a confused look.
"My what?"
"Your girlfriend, Andrea." I chuckled awkwardly.
"Oh!" His eyes widened.
"Yea she's.. she's good. Did you not just talk to her?"
"I'm going to go now." I stood up.
"Okay." Alec said. I walked to his door silently as he sat on his bed.
"Alec, eating disorder or not I think your perfect." I shrugged before slipping out of his room.
