It's armour is so tough to the point you need heavy firepower to completely destroy a ED 209 unit

Weakness

As tough and large as the ED 209 is, it's not very intelligient

It cannot process information as quickly as a human brain

Suffers from a manual override weakness that allows an unarmed and sufficiently skilled hacker to access its command system and take control of the droid.
