26 - Labyrinth

Liz arrived at the Hospital still thinking about Mr. Kim's business matters.
She sighed. Her future husband was a secretive type. Or could it be that she didn't bother to ask for more.

It's because she's still uncomfortable with the fact that she's marrying him.

During her break, she was just staring on her phone's screen. Displaying was Jin's phone number. He gave it to her to contact him on his freetime.

And when will his free time be?

Liz just closed her eyes. Still thinking about Mr. Kim and the reason for everything.

While she was walking at the hallway, she met the nurse who was supposed to be on leave. The reason for her double shift.
It was a good thing for her. That meant she could go home for that night.

After convincing Jin that she could just drive going back to the mansion all by herself, she finally had the chance to drive her own car again.

It was a long ride and it was past ten o'clock when she arrived. The guards greeted him and she just smiled to them. Too tired to have a little conversation with them. Usually she's the one talking and they would just listen to her.

She was at the facade going to the front door.

The mansion was again very quiet. No Mr. Kim for a week, probably no Kim Taehyung too and no Jeon Hannah for that night.

Liz:
   "And now she's busy dating someone. I wonder if it's that car racer, Jung Hoseok. Or theat song producer - "

She suddenly noticed something moving at the garden. But she just shrugged her shoulders and continued walking.

Then she again noticed how the bushes were moving. She got her phone. Ready to dial Mr. Kim's number if someone was able to enter the mansion without his permision.

She found her courage in going towards the garden where the light from the full moon was brightly shining.

When she was close, the movement stopped. And suddenly, a frog was leaping out from the bushes.

Liz:
   "Oh! That scared me!"

She was about to finally go inside the mansion when she saw a shadow of a man at the labyrinth nearby.

Liz was pretty sure it was not a frog. Should she call the guards? Should she press the phone and call Jin?

Then she again saw a silhouette of a man standing at the start of the maze.

Liz:
   "The silhouette."

Probably the same man he saw the night when the glass window was broken.

Not scared, she rushed towards the labyrinth to find out whether she was just hallucinating that night or not.

But the silhouette disappeared from the long green vines of the labyrinth. She continued to walk inside the maze and looked for owner of the shadow she saw from minute ago.

And just when she again saw the shadow on the ground, there was a sudden dim of lighting from the sky. The moon was covered with thick clouds causing the labyrinth to get darker.

Liz looked around her.

She couldn't find her way out.

She suddenly felt the cool wind on her skin. The vines seemed to be monsters in the night and the sound of an owl at the tree made her skin shiver.

She run and run to find her way out from the labyrinth. No longer interested with the shadow she saw but the chance to get out and reach the mansion.

She dialled Mr. Kim's number, still running. While waiting for him to pick up, she accidentally tripped and fell on the ground.

Her phone was no longer on her hand and she couldn't find it.

Liz:
   "Where is it? Oh no."

She crawled on the ground and tried to feel it with her hands.

Panicking, she continued to look for her phone.

Yet, as she was about to stand, she was able to touch something hard on the ground.

A man's shoe.

Raising her head, her heart rate felt like at it's highest. Her heart was about to explode.

Slowly, she stood. The clouds covering the moon started to fade away. Thus, showing the physique of a man wearing a black tuxedo and white under polo shirt.

Flashing his smile with his extra white teeth and sharp fangs reflecting the moon's beam, he stood there.
Not a silhouette from behind the curtains. Not the shadow on the ground. But a questionable human greeting her in the dark.

Kim Mingyu:
   "Fear not, milady :)"

Liz stared at his eyes. Then everyhing turned black as she lost her senses.
