38 - The Bloody Moon

Liz handed Jin's journal. Her hand was shaking and she couldn't look at his eyes.

Jin:
   "Don't be scared. I won't harm you."

Liz took a step backward.

Liz:
   "But you are - "

Jin:
   "A murderer?"

Liz nodded. Jin sighed. Of course she'd thought of it that way.

Jin opened her journal and slowly scanned the pages.

< 31st of January, 1868 >

She is safe now. Elizabeth is mine. But I have committed murder. I ended people's lives and I regret not even a single minute of it."

Kim Seokjin closed his eyes. It happened 150 years ago yet he could fully remember it well.

How he saved Myeong Elizabeth and how he killed a number of people.

The moon was on it's full bloom. Those who worship it were all gathered to bow down before it.

Seokjin and the soldiers hide themselves from their sight. Bringing swords and pistols ~ all ready to kill.

Elizabeth came forward at the altar where the moon's son was waiting for her.

The man was holding a dagger. A dagger for a human sacrifice.

Elizabeth laid on top of a bed filled with feathers. All to strain the blood from his own body.

The moon shone on her pureness as the moon's son lifted the dagger up. Ready to bury it to her flesh.

Elizabeth closed her eyes as she accepted her fate. A human sacrifice for the moon to shine for another centuries.

But the commencement of breath was halted by the sound of the dagger fallen on the floor.

Kim Mingyu:
   "I cannot end the life of the woman whom I love."

The chattering of voices was then replaced by the loud sound of gun shots.

Soldiers came out and attacked the people who worshipped the moon.

Kim Seokjin hurriedly took Myeong Elizabeth away from Kim Mingyu.

Kim Seokjin:
   "You stay away from her."

And as he tried to ran away from the place, he would kill any one who would try to get their way.

With a gun on his hand, he killed a lot of people. And when he ran out of bullets, he grabbed his sword and use it to end a human's life.

Elizabeth:
   "Mr. Kim, please let me go."

Kim Seokjin stopped from running and slowly let go of her hand.

Seokjin:
   "Elizabeth ~ "

Elizabeth:
   "It's my fate. So shall it be."

Seokjin shook his head.

Then there was a loud thunder that roared  and a frightening flashes of lightning.

The rain pour hard. Then the Moon's son suddenly appeared behind Elizabeth.

Kim Seokjin:
   "Get away from her!"

Another lightning struck on the ground. And as the rain continued to pour, Kim Seokjin's hand that was covered with blood was cleansed by it's own violence.

He couldn't bare to see the woman she loved to die in his very own eyes. And so he raised his head to the sky and looked at the brightly shining moon.

Kim Seokjin:
   "Take me instead."

He tightly gripped on the sword and pierced his own heart with it.

The moon witnessed how he ended his life as tears came out from his eyes.

Elizabeth:
   "Mr. Kim!"

He fell on the floor.

Elizabeth held his hand and cried under the moon ~ under the crying sky.

Kim Seokjin reached for her face while smiling.

Kim Seokjin:
   "I wanna see your face smiling down at me. And if my life ends here, show me the sweetest smile from those lips before I take my last breath."

Then he closed his eyes and took his last breath before he could see her sweetest smile.

-and true it was. Blood reflected the moon's surface.

Shin Liz cleared her throat to disturb Jin from his deep thoughts.

Liz:
   "Something is missing in your journal. What happened after you killed them?"

Jin looked at her and smiled.

Jin:
    "We got married :)"
