FIRST

first kiss

the first time mike and el kissed was in the school cafeteria. mike asked el to the snowball- but of course el didn't know what it was. she didn't even really know about the whole concept of love and liking someone. even though she didn't know about it, she was living it. mike's gentile touch and soft soothing voice sent her heart ablaze. she liked him more than the other boys. she didn't know why, but she just wanted to be with him.

mike started getting nervous around her when he realized he liked her. and that showed now more than ever when he asked her to the snowball.

she was looking so cute, despite the fact that she just got out of a bathtub, exploring another dimension.

and he couldn't explain the snowball to her- without kissing her.

so he just leaned in and pecked her on the lips. he didn't really know how to do it and he was sweaty and nervous as hell, so he hoped that it went well.

and it did, even though the romantic moment was short-lived.

first date

about a month after the shadow monster was supposedly defeated, mike asked hopper to take her on a date, to which hopper reluctantly agreed.

being the geeky, nerdy, guy he is, the two just stayed in his house, watching he goonies.

he wanted to show her star wars, but she's just being introduced to action movies. plus, the goonies had that kiss scene at the end, where mike could make a move.

first time saying "i love you"

mike was really reluctant to say i love you. because it has so many different meanings to it, and he didn't really get much help from his parents in a broken relationship.

so, when they were fourteen, mike invited her over, and brought her to his basement, and played one of her favorite songs, paul anka's put your head on my shoulder.

el giggled when he took her hand and they started dancing in the middle of his basement. he twirled he around so that she felt like a princess. then he pulled her close she put her hands around his neck, and his hands found her waist.

their foreheads touched, and el was smiling, but mike felt like he was about to explode.

"el....." he trailed off.

"mmhmm?" el asked, opening her eyes.

"i love you," he said.

el felt fireworks in her stomach and she pulled away to look into his eyes. he was smiling and nervous and el smiled.

she pressed a kiss to his lips slowly, and placed one of her hands on his chest, where she could feel his heart rate beating at a
million miles per second.

when she pulled away from the kiss she said, "i love you, too,"

then she buried her head in his chest and left mike with a goofy smile on his face, and the pride of having such an amazing girl.

LAST

last kiss

they didn't know their last kiss was going to be their last kiss. the shadow monster had returned, even though they didn't know it.

el and mike were seventeen when they had their last kiss.

they were curled up on mike's couch, alone in the vacant basement. they were watching e.t. for the millionth time.
