for the record i've never played d&d, but i did some research and i watched she kills monsters

into the woods - a d&d adventure

in the deep end of the forest, there were creatures lurking about. there were terrible monsters and dark terrors that could haunt your nightmares. they say to never venture off into such a terrible part of the woods, but there were six that chose to tackle it.

the paladin, the cleric, the bard, the ranger, the mage, and the zoomer all stood at the edge of the wood.

the paladin - mike wheeler || constantly devoting himself to a life of good

the cleric- will byers || skilled in combat and has healing powers

the bard - dustin || uses artistic talents to induce magical effects

the ranger - lucas || hunter and skilled woodsman

the mage - eleven hopper || has the ability to use arcane magic

the zoomer - max mayfield || hella fast

"ready?" mike asked the group.

"always," lucas replied, pulling out a hunting knife from his sheath, ready to defend his friends from whatever lied ahead. this was the final part of their mission to rescue the princess. all they had to do was slay the thessalhydra.

then they entered the woods.

it was dark and the tree's branches seemed to enclose them. lucas was suspicious. the path, so far, was way too easy. though it was dimly lit by the torch dustin carried, there was nothing on the path but dirt.

the clear path was surrounded by grass and tree trunks, but beyond that, there was very little to see. there were bushes shuffling every now and then, which will hoped were just cute bunnies.

"just stay close to me," mike said to the mage, who smiled upon hearing his words, "i'll keep you safe,"

el bit her lip, "i have powers. you have a sword. i'll keep you safe,"

dustin and lucas, who were trailing behind mike, chuckled.

max shoved her hands in her pockets, and shook her head. she looked ahead at the dark looming path that laid ahead, and said, "there clearly isn't anything in this forest. maybe we went the wrong way,"

lucas shook his head, "there's no way. the clues led us here,"

"well, maybe your clue-solving skills are a bit rusty," max said, crossing her arms.

lucas scoffed, "you dare to question my clue-solving skills?"

max rolled her eyes, "i question everyone's clue-solving skills, stalker,"

suddenly there was a load roar from behind them. everybody turned around, their eyes gazing into the darkness. the roar sounded like a lion. or a bear. or both. so the group slowly backed away from the creeping darkness and the sudden prominence of large, heavy footsteps.

and there, stepping into the view by the glow of torchlight, was an ant; a giant ass ant. it was larger than any animal he had ever seen, and from dustin's knowledge, had the ability to crush you with two bites from it's massive jaw.

"what is that?" max asked.

"shit! run!" dustin screamed, veering from the path, onto the grass. but as dustin step foot onto the grass, it turned bright red, like an iron rod amidst burning hot coals, and burned dustin's foot.
