You opened your door to your apart, the smell of warm vanilla with a dash of cinnamon envolped the two you. You closed the door behind him excusing yourself to go change out of your wet clothes.
Chris walked into the center of your living room taking everything in. It was vastly different then the scene outside your door. The room was impeccably clean, though your carpet did hold scorch marks left by the last tenants. The couch was an ugly mustard color and well worn, it was an obvious second hand item. You had a small box style tv on a rickety microwave cart. On either side of it was two book shelves, one holding dvds, the other filled with books.
Chris smiled to himself, shaking his head. He knew he needed to find an apartment on the better side of town, he didn't like any bit of where you currently residing. He made a mental tally of the things that would be changing very soon.
He looked up as you padded down the narrow hall, your feet barely making any noise. You had changed into a loose pair of gym shorts, he took a long look at your legs as in you walked in. His eyes traveled up, till they met met yours. Instinctively you crossed your arms covering yourself, you had put on a tank top and were suddenly feeling shy.
"Did you want something to drink?" You asked, walking into the tiny kitchen.
"Sure." He replied, watching you intently as you pulled open the fridge grabbing two bottles of water.
"Wish I could offer you a beer or something else but it's all I got. The pipes in the building aren't the greatest and I don't trust them." You chuckle nervously, handing him the bottle.
"Water is fine." He stated, taking a step toward you, you glanced down. Your heart began to beat rapidly, and your hands started to shake. The closer he got the worse your nerves got, how were you ever going to pull this off. Your breathing became rapid as you saw the toe of shoes come into view.
"Sweetheart, calm down, you gotta breathe." He cooed, wrapping his muscular arms around you. Your body tensed at the action, you had to fight yourself not to pull away. You took a deep breath, inhaling his scent, feeling his warmth, your body slowly started to relax. "There we go."
"Would, would you like to sit down?" You stuttered out, he pulled away, grabbing your hand and lead you back to your couch.
"So, we'll have to look at another housing arrangement for you." He told you, your eyes shot up to him, you opened your mouth but he pressed his fingers to your lips. "I'm not going to have you living here, not with all of that right outside your door."
A croak from the end of the hall caught the man's attention as he was about to say more. Slow and lazily a mangy looking cat crept out, the poor creature looked ancient. It's fur stuck out randomly, white milky cataracts covered its eyes.
"That's hagrid. He was my adoptive brother's cat." You smile warmly at the pitiful animal, standing. You walk over picking him up off the ground and walked back to Chris sitting down.
"He's close to fifteen, blind in both eyes and missing most of his teeth. When my brother passed away I took him, my dad was going to him put down and I couldn't let him."
"Well then, hello hargid." Chris smiled as he pet the cats back. The simple act calmed your nerves, seeing him react to your only friend in Boston. "By the way, I'm also getting you a new car. Something reliable."
"Chris I can't let you do that if your getting me an apartment." You sigh, trying to reason with him. He shook his head, slowly bring his baby blues up meet yours.
"I don't live on a bus line for one, and two I want to make sure you can get around safely without having to worry about your car breaking down on you." He explained, shifting so that his body faced yours more. "Here's how this is going to go, baby girl, I'm going to buy you things. Lots of things, stuff you need, stuff you don't need, and you aren't going to fight me on every single one of these items."
"But Chris, I don't want to feel like I'm using you." Your frustration coming out slightly.
"And I won't be using you?" His voice dropped, becoming husky as his eyes darkened. Slowly they traveled down your torso, you could feel the heat creep up your face as a warmth spread through your lower body.
Slowly he brought his hand up, sliding it behind your neck. His eyes travel back up to your lips, nervously you bit one of them. The corner of his mouth lifted a bit before he leaned in. His lips captured yours softly, he pulled you against him as he deepened the kiss.
All the nervousness you did have was washed away from you as you melted into him. You could feel the muscles in his chest moved as he continued to pull you in closer. Slowly he broke the kiss, leaving you wanting more, his scent filled your senses. It was intoxicating, the way he slid his hand down resting it in the small of your back.
"Tomorrow I'll have you meet with someone to look for an apartment in the better part of town. You need to make a doctor appointment as well so we can have those few things cleared up." He sighed resting his chin on top of your head.
"I also need to call the diner and put in my two weeks." You rested your body against his, your head against his chest.
"No, no two weeks. Just quit out right." His commanding tone started to creep back in.
"Look, I'm not just going to quit out right, that looks bad on me. If this doesn't work out I can't have me just up and quitting a job like that on an application."
"I understand where you are coming from but I want you to quit tomorrow." His voice softening.
"Give me one good reason why." You stated, pulling back so you could look up at him.
"Cause I don't want everyone staring at your ass there anymore." He smirked.
