"So Mr. Evans, we've heard you had a crazy busy year this year." The tiny blonde interviewer asked, her bright white teeth faking a smile.
"Yeah, it's been one heck of a ride."Chris chuckled, rubbing the back of his head.
You looked around the small almost empty room, obviously set up just for the interview. She continued to pepper him with questions, and occasional flirting. You tried to remind yourself not to get jealous, there wasn't any reason for it. He was your boss after all, not your boyfriend.
She asked him about Avengers and up coming films. He dodged the avengers question beautifully instead focusing the question on one the other films he had coming out. Occasionally he'd dart his eyes toward you, while you played on you phone, looking busy.
"So a lot of over viewers have asked about your current relationship status." She stated, leaning forward a bit. "So, what is Mr. Evans current relationship status?"
Her tone was flirtatious, as she reached out touching his forearm. You rolled you eyes, as you glanced up from your phone.
"I am very much single." He laughed lightly, leaning a back a bit in the chair, folding one arm of the other.
"What kind of things do you look for in a partner?" She asked, Chris shifted in his seat as he thought about the question.
"Someone who's a good person, able to laugh at themselves. Someone who would enjoy spending days doing absolutely nothing, I spend a lot of time working or going from one place to the next so just being able to relax would be amazing." He stated calmly, you glanced up at the interviewer.
"What about physically?" She asked, biting her bottom lip. You raised an eye brow at her antics.
"You know, that doesn't matter as much. A woman could be drop dead gorgeous and put together well but if she's horrible person then the surface doesn't matter." He replied.
"I'm sure you still have a type that you're still attracted to, what makes you do a double take?" She grinned, leaning forward lightly. Obviously this chick didn't know how to drop the subject.
You saw Chris flick his gaze to you, he had been sitting down doing this interview for an hour already. She had been slated for forty-five minutes, you cleared your throat standing. The blonde glanced over at you.
"Mr. Evans." You announced casually, looking at your phone. Chris nodded, keeping his lips a thin line before turning back to her.
"If you'll excuse us, I have to get going." He stated casually, he leaned forward shaking the other woman's hand.
"Awe, doesn't seem like it's been forty five minutes." She pouted.
"You're right it's been an hour actually." You quipped back, she glared at you as Chris went over to retrieve his jacket.
"Oh, I didn't mean to keep you." She glanced back to him, the fakeness in her voice grating on your nerves a bit more then earlier. "Mr Evans, what are your plans this evening?"
"Actually my assistant and I have to be flying back later tonight." He replied, giving her smile.
"If you have any time, maybe I might be able to persuade you into having an early dinner with me." She bit her bottom lip, you glanced over to Chris wondering how he was going respond to her sudden forwardness.
He didn't respond right away, you could see something cross his face for the briefest of seconds.
"You do have a prior engagement to attend to, I can cancel if you'd like, sir." You interjected, giving him an out if he wanted it.
You weren't sure what he wanted at the moment, but you put your own feelings aside and played your part. As much as you wanted him to tell her no, it wasn't your place. Chris looked over at you, the corner of his mouth pulled up. He nodded his head, chuckling a bit.
"How could I forget about dinner with Downey." He added to your white lie, you tried to repress your smile as you saw the other woman pout.
"Not sure, but you know how much he likes to be kept waiting. And traffic isn't in our favor." You said, Chris walked over to you, mouthing a silent thank you as he turned away from her.
"I gotta ask, boss, why didn't you just tell her no?" You smirked once inside the safety of the elevator cab.
"I wasn't expecting her to ask, usually they give some indication that they are going to do that." He breathed, shaking his head.
"You couldn't tell she was flirting with you?" You asked, snapping your head to him.
"No, she was hot and cold during the interview." He remarked looking back over at you, as the doors rolled open to the ground floor.
"She was fishing, asking what type of women you were into, if you were single. A blind man would of seen that coming a mile away." You laughed as you walked out of the building. "I'm going to rethink this."
"Rethink what?" He asked, knitting his face together as you got the car.
"The real reason your single is you can't tell if a woman is flirting with you." You chuckled, the car between you.
"You don't think I can tell when a girl is flirting with me?" He scoffed, leaning his forearms on the top of the car, blue eyes trained on you.
"You tell me... Mr. Evans." You teased, smirking at him.
"Well, for one thing, I could tell you had been checking me out since you started working at the diner." He quipped back, unlocking the car.
"Not the same." You replied, seating yourself in the passenger side.
"It's not?" He chuckled, turning the key bringing the car to life.
"Nope, cause women check you out all day." You glanced over at him, trying not to laugh at the fake shock on his face. "Don't even pretend you don't notice, flexing with your arms when you stretch."
"I would never." He scoffed as he pulled out on the busy street. "So pizza or tacos?"
"Ooo, tacos." You replied. "So we're flying out tonight? Or was that a ruse?"
"Did you not check your return ticket?" He asked, eyes focused on the road.
"No why would I go and do that?"
