Talia's POV
"You need to relax, Akio! If you keep exerting yourself then you're never going to heal!" I shouted as I dragged him over to a couch.
"I can't just sit here while all of you work to make this place better and safer!" He shouted back as he tried to get off the couch but I forced him back down.
"Akio, I know you want to help, but you need to eat, drink, and rest. Once your injuries heal you can start helping again." I said.
He sighed and laid back on the couch before responding.
"Fine. I'll stay here and relax." He said. "How long do you think it'll take for me to be able to be helpful again?" He asked.
"I don't know. It could be a few weeks, could be a few months, but it's just gonna be longer if you try and force yourself to do things now. The more you relax the faster you'll heal, the faster you'll be able to get back out there and help." I answered.
"Ok... thanks Talia." He said after sighing in defeat.
"You're welcome." I said as I gave him a glass of water and a plate of dried meat and fruit.
After I was finished with Akio I left his house and went back to mine to check on Jordyn. I opened the door and found her sitting up in the bed I had left her in that morning before going to talk with Carl, Ethan, Enid, and Archer.
"Hey Talia." She said when I walked in.
"Hey, how're you feeling?" I asked.
"Um... I'm alive." She said with a shrug.
She's still really pale but other than that she seems fine.
"Yeah, I can see that." I responded as I chuckled slightly and readied a plate of food for her.
After I had gotten the food I gave it to her and poured two glasses of water, one for her and one for me.
"Ok, eat and drink while I check on your arm." I instructed as I sat down by the bed.
She nodded and put her arm out for me to inspect and ate with her other. I undid the bandages I had wrapped around her stump and threw them in the trash and looked at the injury.
The cauterization has stopped the bleeding... it doesn't look like it's infected... but it definitely still needs to heal, it should be fine after a while.
"Ok, everything looks fine for now, you just need some time to heal and then everything will be good." I said as I grabbed some antibiotic cream and new bandages.
I started to apply the antibiotic cream on her arm and then once the cream was applied I wrapped her arm back up in bandages.
We're running low on the cream, we're definitely gonna need more of it, but that's a problem for another day.
"Talia, can you maybe teach me some medical stuff?" She asked suddenly. "I always wanted to be a doctor before the world ended."
"Yeah, sure, I'd be happy to teach you, I already teach some people, in fact I have a small group of kids around your age that I teach so you could just join that group." I answered, she smiled happily at my answer. "But for now you need to heal, once you're done with that then you can start coming with them." I finished.
