(OLD) Chapter 12: Join Us (OLD)

Archer's POV (Surprised?)

After I locked Carl and Ethan in their cell I immediately went back to Talia's cabin.

What the hell are we gonna do?!

I entered and saw her sitting back in the arm chair that she had been sitting in when we were talking to Carl, Ethan and Tony.

"Talia, what are we going to do? Damian being back is going to make it very difficult to get Carl, Ethan, and Tony out of here. Tell me you have a plan." I said as I say in front of her.

She shook her head before responding.

"What I did when Damian barged in was a heat of the moment thing. I wanted to keep them alive and keep Damian from killing us. I don't have a plan... yet, but I will." She responded.

I put my face in my hands and sighed.

"Great. Damian doesn't trust us, so it's gonna be even harder to get them out now." I muttered.

"Let me think, Archer." She said.

I stood up and walked towards the door.

"I'm gonna go back to the wall, do my job while you think about how to get them out." I said as I walked out.

I reached the wall and climbed up onto the platform. I stood on watch for a while before I saw something in the woods.

"Get the ladder down! Let me in!" Someone shouted.

Shit! The scouts! They must have found something!

I ran over to the ladder and let it down, the scout ran straight towards it and started climbing. That's when the noise registered in my mind.

Oh my god. That herd must be huge.

"Thanks Archer, but we need to get everyone out, now, no time to waste. I lost Angela while we were running back. It's gonna tear the wall down without any trouble." The scout, a man named Stewart, said.

"I'll go tell Talia, get the rest of the guards to start bringing people to the tunnels! Go now!" I shouted as I jumped off the platform and landed and rolled so I wouldn't hurt myself.

I ran towards Talia's cabin, and the gunshots started. I turned around and saw Robert and three other guards shooting their assault rifles at what I assumed was the herd.

Fucking idiots! That's just gonna bring more of them down on us!

I changed direction and ran towards the dumbasses.

"Stop! What are you doing?! You're going to get us killed!" I shouted when I got close enough to them.

"Screw you Archer! We got this!" Robert shouted.

"You're a fucking idiot Robert! That's just gonna bring more of them here! Stop shooting!" I responded.

He didn't say anything more, just kept shooting. I gave up and ran to Talia's cabin, people were running around, kids were crying, people were screaming, it was absolute chaos. I saw Talia directing people towards the tunnel that led to the cars and trucks hidden in a clearing in the forest about a half mile away from us.
